Today Reema spoke on 2 Peter 3:1-2 in which Peter reminds us that Jesus is Lord and Saviour and recalls the ways that God has spoken to us.

Reema led the time of prayer:

• Praying hat we would be reminded as Jesus as our Lord and Saviour

• Praying this for ourselves, the church and the world.

This morning Tim spoke on 2 Peter 2:17-22 and the need to encourage people in their faith in Jesus and not pull them away from it

Tim then led the prayers praying

• for opportunities to talk about Jesus with those around us

• For us to be a church that witnesses to God

Today Tristan spoke on 1 Peter 2:12-16 about having our actions rooted in faith, and living out lives that are submitted to God.

Josh Moxon led the time of prayer, praying:

• for our own evangelism and witness.

• those in our lives that don’t know Jesus yet

• those effected by the storms in the north

• that we will submit to Jesus and be counter cultural.

Today Matt spoke on 2 Peter 2: 4-11 why we need to be on our guard, wary of false teachers and the destruction they can bring, but how it is good to have a healthy fear of the Lord.

Matt led the time of prayer, praying:

Into the passage:

• That we make keep our eyes on the Lord

• That we may grow in respect for God every day and grow in wisdom

• That we may not be led into temptation

For the world:

• For peace and a de-escalation of arms in the crisis in Ukraine:

• Against worry and panic

This morning Sophie spoke on 2 Peter 2:1-3, looking at what false teaching is in a practical way and how we can distinguish it from the truth and avoid being exploited by it. Also, how the only solution is to know the way of truth, the living word of God and be satisfied in Jesus alone.

Josh Moxon then led the time of prayer, praying:

• that we would say sorry where we haven’t been rooted in the truth of Gods word

• for an increase desire and delight in Gods word

• for anyone struggling with the easing of restrictions and for our country as a whole as restrictions are eased.

This morning Sarah spoke on 2 Peter 1. 19-21 how God’s word is a light in the darkness of this world; how Peter reminds us to keep paying attention and turn to scripture; how we have the hope of Jesus’ return; and how, as Christians, we have the Holy Spirit to guide us just as the prophets did.

Emma Kniebe then led the time of prayer, praying

• for us to pay attention and stay alert

• for those we know who are experiencing ‘dark times’ and for ourselves if we are in ‘dark times’

• that we would allow God’s word to be a light that helps us see things clearly

• for the Holy Spirt to fill and guide each of us

This morning Carolyn spoke from 2 Peter 1:16-18

Rory then led the time of prayer, praying

• That we would be carriers of Jesus' light in the world

• That we would keep the faith

• For our Alpha courses running today

This morning Julia spoke on 2 Peter 1:12-15

Robert Sang then led the prayers, praying:

• That we would remember "these things" as Julia spoke on

• For the Alpha course that people would know the good news of the gospel and come to faith

• For people going back to work as the restrictions ease - that we would be protected and would also exercise wisdom as to which activities we partake in.

This morning Jo spoke from 2 Peter 1:10-11

Our prayer for 2022

• Lord, we accept this mission, this calling,

• Lord, we want to be your workers.

• Lord, help us to be strong and courageous, to develop in those areas where we are weak

• Lord, help us to get up and try again when we fail.

• Lord, help us to stay focussed and keep marching

Lord , thank you that You go before us, Your Holy spirit gives us all that we need for the journey.
