Home Video Hustle

This has been on the HVH watchlist since 2017, finally getting around to it. Crazy enough, I think this may be our first Full Moon Feature as well! Chris and I hold it down and find out what happens when simps get tricked by sexy vampires and have to call in bootleg Blade to help them survive!

Christmas is coming a bit early this year! We haven't touched this series since PJ and I did it back in 2018 but that changes this week and to make it even better, PJ is back with us. We all have to admit that no matter what you think about this film, Eric Freeman gets it at least one point on his own right?

PJ is back on the show this week and he picked a wild one to come back with. Ice Cube and J-Lo fighting a snake, Jon Voight sounding like Tony Montana from Scarface and squeezing Kari Wuhrer between his legs, Owen Wilson getting swallowed, Eric Stoltz taking wasps to the throat, this is a wild flick.

The massacre was in Texas, so I pulled out the chainsaw!!! Yessir, it's time to check back in with Leatherface and this... comedy?!? Yeah, if the poster didn't give it away, this sequel pulls an Evil Dead 2 style move and just gets goofy. Cameron joins us very late into the episode and has us laughing at old video games.

Wait, this is pre MCU...

This debuted on the Sci-Fi Channel?...

It's directed by the brother that did Lawnmower Man?...

Where to even begin with this film? It's an original for sure, even though it recycles a lot from other horror flicks. We have some glorious Claymation kills, random aliens, birds and lizards attacking people, a Casio keyboard score that is dying to be remixed by Trade Voorhees, a genuinely creepy scene from the best actor in the film and a plot that had me asking...Why?!?

The Halloween Hustle continues and the movie this week blends three things Chris and I love, wrestling, horror and b-movie schlock! Well, maybe just two things for Chris anyway. Anita has gone back to the locker room, so Chris and I are tag teaming this week and it's a hell of a main event!

The Halloween Hustle begins and before Anita runs off, we had to get one more Alien film in, especially since this is a direct sequel to Prometheus. They weren't really fans of that film but this one actually has Xenomorphs and some decent kills, so I think it'll fare better. Chris and I also try and figure out our favorite and least favorite horror games, Brent is confused by In Vitro Fertilization and Anita has thoughts about Alien: Earth.

The first question I was asked when I told Chris and Anita about this movie was, why?!? Did we really need to know where the Xenomorphs come from? Maybe, maybe not but we're gonna learn anyway. There are a few familiar faces here though and Anita is a huge Alien fan now, so this could end up being a pleasant surprise.

Andre joins us this week to discuss his Patreon pick and we got super nerdy on the microphones about movies, music and John Woo flicks in general. Andre and I debate Wu-Tang solo albums, Letterboxd reviews and how well you should Protect Ya Neck. Nice thing this week, we just got a clean 4K version of this film to watch!
