Homer's long lost half brother shows up trying to regain his fortune and he needs Homer's help after he receives a cash settlement from Mr. Burns.

Bart decides to become a rock star after going to his first heavy metal concert and decides to become a rock star while Otto loses his license and Bart helps Otto survive while he gets his license back. 

Selma can't live with her loneliness anymore and decides she needs a man and finds one thanks to a prison pen pal program much to Bart's chagrin.

Marge insults Homer at the movie theatre and he rides off angrily to a bar more than a hundred miles away and he meets a waitress with a talent for singing. Homer becomes her manager and Marge is not happy at all.

Homer is convinced he's going to win the lottery as Santa's Little Helper is having a major health crises that the family can't really afford the treatment so they have to make some sacrifices they are not happy with. 

The kids take a standardized test to determine their future and Lisa is greatly disappointed and rebels while Bart has his first taste of power and loves it.

Homer signs up for the company softball team and gets his coworkers to join him with the promise of a secret weapon. The team works its way to the finals only to have Mr. Burns replace them all with ringers from Major League Baseball.

Mrs. K is feeling really lonely and needs a man, Bart decides to pull a cruel joke on her but it ultimately backfires on him and it's up to him to mend Mrs. K's broken heart.

The family take Marge for granted and she has a spectacular meltdown and demands to go on a short vacation by herself.
