  • JACOB'S STONE AT BETHEL
JACOB'S STONE AT BETHEL. [When an Ordinary Stone Became a Memorial] Genesis 28:10–22 KJV What happens when an ordinary stone becomes a memorial of an extraordinary encounter with God?In this powerful lesson, we follow Jacob as he flees from home, faces an uncertain future, and spends a lonely night in the wilderness. With nothing but a stone for his pillow, Jacob discovers that God is present even in life's darkest and loneliest places.Through Jacob's dream of a ladder reaching toward heaven, God's covenant promises, and the stone Jacob erected at Bethel, we discover the importance of remembering God's faithfulness. We also examine the ancient standing stones known as masseboth, including those discovered at Gezer, and learn to distinguish biblical certainty from archaeological evidence and speculation. Most importantly, we discover how Jacob's ladder points beyond the stone to Jesus Christ, the only way to the Father.Every Christian ought to have some Bethels—spiritual landmarks where we remember God's presence, answered prayers, and unfailing faithfulness. But our faith must never rest in a place, a monument, or a memory. It must rest in Jesus Christ alone! REMEMBER YOUR BETHEL—BUT BUILD YOUR LIFE ON JESUS CHRIST! "Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not." — Genesis 28:16 KJV The stone remembered the encounter. The ladder pointed toward heaven. But only the Savior can bring us to God!

  • Testimony of Pastor Tim Johnson
This testimony recounts the spiritual journey of a man raised in a devout Christian home who struggled with a lack of genuine love for God despite his intellectual zeal for Reformed doctrine. Drawing on Philippians 3, the speaker describes his conversion as a quiet but radical shift from relying on his own righteousness to trusting in the absolute faithfulness of Christ, a realization sparked by hearing a sermon on John 10. The narrative extends to his ongoing sanctification, highlighting how the grace of God transformed his capacity to love others, influenced deeply by the writings of Jonathan Edwards and Amy Carmichael. The account also details the providential path of his marriage and ministry, emphasizing that God's grace enables believers to press toward the goal of knowing Christ and conforming to His image, rather than seeking great things through their own strength.

  • Israel Attacked by Hamas: 3 Years Later
Following the dictates of the Quran such as 5:51 – "O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and Nasara (Christians) as friends." There's 9:73: "O you prophet, perform jihad against the infidels and the hypocrites, and be harsh with them. And their abode will be hell, and evil is the final place." There's 47:4: "So when you meet those who became infidels, so strike the necks until you have made a great slaughter among them." Lastly, there's 25:52: "So do not obey the infidels, and perform jihad against them with a big jihad." That's exactly what took place, three years ago today, when the Islamic terrorist group Hamas launched the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. On that day nearly 1,200 Israelis were killed and 251 people taken hostage. As Jihad Watch pointed out, "Terrorists burned people and pets alive, children among them, looted homes, set houses and neighborhoods on fire, took civilians and bodies and filmed it. One terrorist called his parents from a victim's phone and said he had butchered ten Jews, including the woman whose phone he had taken and her husband." The article continued, "...they shot civilians on the roads, in shelters and at intersections then drove on to the communities. They shot the old, fathers and mothers with children, and teenagers. They also killed whoever was in the way, including foreign workers." The attacks against Israel continue…

  • What Can You Give Me That My Wife Can’t?
Proverbs 5:15-21 — Why do marriages drift apart after the kids leave? A biblical marriage message on keeping the wife of your youth. ⛪ Preached at Pilgrim Baptist Church's 3rd Annual Family Camp • Cookeville, TN • October 6, 2026. This family integrated church sermon from Proverbs 5:15-21, featuring guest preacher Mike Loftin, takes on a question most couples avoid: why do people stay married for thirty years, watch the children leave home, and then end up divorced, or in the same house and miserable? If you want to keep your marriage strong, this biblical marriage message says it comes down to one thing, spending time, and it shows what happens when you do not. Pastor Loftin preaches as a man who has been married for thirty years to his high school sweetheart. He explains why a deeper love grows over time, why hard times draw a couple closer, and why a marriage built only on the physical will not hold. He also tells how he answered a woman who tried to flatter him, and why every husband and wife should be ready with an answer when temptation comes. Walking through Proverbs 5, Malachi 2, Genesis 2, Ecclesiastes 9, and 1 Peter 3, this sermon explains: - Why you must make time for your spouse or you will drift apart - What it means to drink waters out of your own cistern (Proverbs 5:15) - Why the wife of thy youth is your companion and the wife of thy covenant (Malachi 2:14) - What the Bible says about putting away a spouse (Malachi 2:16) - Why you cannot grow closer to the Savior and farther from your spouse - Why the standard is "How does God treat me?" for wife, husband, and children - How to keep your marriage joyful through communication and being easily entreated

  • The Life & Legacy of William Tyndale
Dr. David Brown is Pastor Emeritus of the First Baptist Church in Oak Creek. He has a Master's in Theology and a PhD in History specializing in the history of the English Bible. It is very easy in our society to take what we have for granted. We can go into a dark home and flip a switch and we have light. We need a cool drink of water and turn on the faucet and satisfy our thirst. We go to our technology devices and we can instantaneously communicate with people all around the world. As nice as these conveniences are, there is something far more precious than all of them: the Bible, the Word of God. While it's easy for us to take for granted the rich availability of the Scriptures in print, on our tablets, and on phone devices, what we must not ignore is the fact that having the Scriptures in the English language cost someone their own life. That person was William Tyndale. He's been renowned as "the father of the English Bible" and is recognized as one of the major leaders of the English Reformation. He became one of the most wanted men in England and all of Europe, even pursued by the king himself. It's the 500th anniversary of the Tyndale New Testament and tomorrow is the 490th anniversary of Tyndale's death. So don't miss this historical overview of the life and legacy of William Tyndale so that you can grasp the amount of sacrifice that went into the formation of our English Bible.

  • Parenting for God's Praise
This sermon explores Psalm 145 as a foundational text for Christian parenting, emphasizing the primary responsibility of parents to declare God's character and works to their children. The message is structured around four key attributes of God: His greatness, His goodness, the glory of His kingdom, and His graciousness to all. It argues that a God-centric home requires active meditation on Scripture and consistent testimony, rather than delegating spiritual formation solely to the church or Sunday school. The tone is instructional and pastoral, urging believers to view their daily interactions and family worship as opportunities to instill a biblical worldview. Ultimately, the sermon calls for the proclamation of the gospel, highlighting that God's patience and grace lead to salvation for those who call on Him in truth.
