Welcome to episode 4 of Hoop and Huddle, the comedy sports podcast hosted by Luke Touma and Nate Marshall, produced by YMH Studios. NFL Week 2 is in the books and it was a wild one.
The Bills beat the Lions 41-31 after going up 21-0, and the game was over by the second quarter. Josh Allen now has 9 touchdowns and 77 Bills points through two weeks, he's never looked better, and the Joe Brady hire is paying off. But the Bills defense still doesn't look right and the Lions defense looks atrocious. Plus, the Josh Allen "ball hog" allegations.
The Eagles hold off the Titans 24-20 on a Jalen Hurts game-winning drive capped by a touchdown to Darius Cooper. Philly is 2-0 and has looked bad in both games, which is the most Eagles thing ever.
Deshaun Watson legacy game! The Browns beat the Bucs 23-19 behind Watson's 24-for-30, 238 yards and 2 TDs, including the late go-ahead score. Meanwhile Baker Mayfield follows up his new 3-year, $165 million deal with two dreadful games in a row.
Ravens vs Saints gets the Stavvy treatment: a controversial call, Lamar Jackson's game-losing interception on a horrible pass, and Tyler Shough proving he has ice in his veins.
Bears vs Vikings turns ugly. Brian Flores' defense eats Caleb Williams alive all day, then Caleb goes down and gets carted off crying with what looked like an Achilles or ACL tear but turned out to be a hamstring. Tyson Bagent and the Bears get to 4th and 2 with one second left and Bagent gets sacked.
The Patriots beat the Steelers 20-3 and Aaron Rodgers looks horrible: 187 yards, no touchdowns, a pick and a fumble six. Time to bench him? Why aren't the Steelers playing Drew Allar, who has the size, the arm and a good preseason? And Drake Maye isn't much better at 1 touchdown and 4 picks on the year.
Sunday Night Football gives us The Laquon Treadwell Game. The Chiefs beat the Colts 33-30 on a walk-off field goal in overtime. Patrick Mahomes goes 32-for-47 with 382 yards and 3 TDs, Travis Kelce looks amazing, and Kenneth Walker season continues. The Colts hold KC to a field goal, hit a bomb to Treadwell who fumbles at the 20 before it's overturned, then run two straight handoffs for -2 yards, think about going for it on 4th and 8 from the 12, kick the field goal instead and lose. You still can't play conservative against the Chiefs (see: every Bills playoff loss).
