Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering.
This week I’m joined by comedian and as it turns out, African food connoisseur Caroline Mabey. She’s one of the hosts of the brilliant self-help podcast, Self-Renovators. We talk about deep-cheese-love as well as revealing ‘the terrible mystery of Anne’. Our eyes get heart-attacks from a 1960s children’s cookbook and I try and talk Caroline out of wanting to ‘live in a terrible prison of her own making.’
Recipes
This is where ‘on the internet‘ Caroline found her sag aloo recipe, from the Hairy Bikers.
And those sugar-free poached pears. Tip: use nicer wine and probably, unless it’s medically required, add some fucking sugar mate
