Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering.
This week I’m talking to a master of the comedic craft, James Acaster. There are some TOP TIPS in terms of mushroom cookery and off-menu-items. Not to even start on the blistering series of American puddings that get a shout out. This is was such a fun, funny, easy episode to record and I think it shows. Once you’ve listened to this watch James’ trilogy of incredible shows on Netflix: Repertoire.
Honourable Mentions
Trader Joe’s in the States where he bought the frozen banana pieces dipped in chocolate.
Magnolia Bakery off of Sex And the City.
I couldn’t find the beautiful Smack the Pony sketch where everyone’s given everything up but actually I found THIS ONE which is, if anything, more fitting
Tom Allen’s Nigella’s Mexican Eggs
Nak’d Bars are a health food bar we have here in the UK and Krispy Kremes are available all over the western world and are not a health food - they’re a delicious heavenly headache wonder doughtnut shop.
Chin Chin Labs and HERE’S THE VIDEO of James doing his torturous and brilliant show with Ed Gamble there.
Five Guys is a mid-high end burger chain relatively new to the UK and Burger King is one which was big in the 80s and is in a steady state of perpetuated death throws now.
Restaurant off of Netflix smash hit Chef’s Table
OH, And
