Hoovering with Jessica Fostekew

Hoovering - Episode 87: Mark Watson

Listen Later

Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering.

This week I’m by the beautiful seaside at the Aberystwyth Comedy Festival, eating delicious chips right next to the lovely, if a bit loud sea, with absolute lovely smasher comedian Mark Watson. Talking everything from mash appreciation through to actually being starving, as in actually being it. He’d know.

Everything written below in CAPITALS is a link to the relevant webpage.

Tickets to see Hoovering LIVE in 2019

The next Hoovering live is in MANCHESTER on 13th October! THAT’S TWO DAYS AWAY. COME COME COME.

The guests are none other than Dave Comedy Best Show Award Nominee AMY GLEDHILL, former Chumbawumba star and now amazing playwright and screenwriter ALICE NUTTER and another superstar guest being announced any minute.

More dates will be added for the winter nice and soon.

Honourable Mentions

You should follow the lovely MARK WATSON on Twitter there and this is a link to the TAP ROOM where he’s sharing a new material night with the wonderful SOFIE HAGEN every Tuesday throughout the autumn and winter.

Oh and we met at the beautiful, brilliant ABERYSTWYTH COMEDY FESTIVAL and we got our chips from a place called CHIP BOX 4. They were soooo gooood.

I would very much love to have you come and see my stand up show HENCH, which is at the SOHO THEATRE in London for three weeks of January. Perhaps get a ticket for someone for Christmas? Yes please. It’s all sold out for October now I’m afraid.

Outside of that I’ll be doing new material gigs and I’m always sticking new dates on MY WEBSITE so have a check. The Hoovering Live dates go on there too.

We spoke about getting recipe boxes to cook at home from GOUSTO and also MINDFUL CHEF

The swanky restaurants we mentioned were THE FAT DUCK and also the now, sadly closed DABBOUS though apparently Ollie Dabbous’ new restaurant is called HIDE.

I also talk about the episode of this I recorded with the excellent JACK MONROE
