God's call of Moses shows the power and willingness of God to use the most frail instruments to accomplish his predetermined will. Moses' self-disclosed shortcomings do not hamper God from carrying out his plans.

The Christian is promised that God will hear and answer his prayers and so we can approach God with confidence. However, how we do discern God's will for our lives and pray accordingly- By understanding the three wills of God and examining what we are praying for, we can better understand God's will for our lives.

Colossians 1-24 explains that we participate in the daily sufferings of Christ -fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions- but can even then be joy-filled. Joy is not a mystery but it is an attitude that must be pursued.

Moses' encounter with God before the burning bush resulted with Moses being sent as the one who would be used to deliver the Hebrew out of Egypt. Serving God is a dangerous calling because we tend to get in the way. Ex. 3 gives us seven essential principles we need to understand if we are to serve God properly.

God called Moses from a burning bush that was never consumed. Exodus 3 reveals that God is a promising keeping God and shows us the importance of waiting for God to act as he calls us as well. Moses replied by saying -Here I am-.

As the children of Israel cried out to God from Egypt, Exodus 2 tells us that God heard, remembered, saw and knew. Just as God heard and responded to the cries of his covenanted OT people, so he hears and answers the prayers of his Church.

The events early in the life of Moses demonstrates how God alone is able to weave the actions of man into his purpose so that what man conspires and schemes will ultimately be used by God for his glory and the good of his people.

The ancient Egyptian days recorded in Exodus 1 prove to be very similar to our present world. Issues of enslavement, exploitation and murder are all common and forms the fabric for the birth of Moses.

The book of Exodus is key to our understanding of the Bible. From it we learn of God's deliverance, covenant and his worship. It is difficult to have a proper understanding of God without knowledge of the OT book of Exodus.

Opposition to the gospel can be expected. However, the Christian does not struggle alone. Philippians 1 instructs us on how we are to face opposition.
