As the early church was persecuted and scattered the gospel was taken to new neighborhoods and foreign countries and the church expanded. Acts 8 identifies the power of real conversions and contrasts what mere professions look like.

The Acts of the Apostles continues this week with a great display of fleshly humanness countered by a greater display of divine empowering. Our text this morning exhibits the power of a life fully surrendered to God.

As the church grew, so did needs and complications. Acts 5 presents God's displeasure over the sin of Christians and his work to purify his church as his kingdom grows.

There is a great deal of confusion as to signs and wonders today. Acts 3 presents a dramatic miracle which proves the authenticity of the newly established Church. However, the great work of God in these chapters is the boldness of God's people.

Acts 2 explains the details leading to the birth of Christ's Church-our ancestors, through the dynamic and dramatic power of the Holy Spirit. The Church is powerful, it is universal and it is polarizing too.

The ascension of Christ is as important as his death and resurrection. From Dust to Glory emphasizes how glorious this event in the work of Christ is and its implications for Christ's heavenly reign and return for his Church.

Luke's account of the acts of the apostles creates a bridge between the Gospels and the Epistles. This study of the first 5 verses of Acts looks at the dependence of Jesus Christ on the Holy Spirit. If Jesus Christ was so dependent on the Holy Spirit, we have to consider how much more we ought to be dependent on God's Spirit for our day-to-day living.

The Scriptures gives us wonderful examples of people who were resolute in their pursuit of God. This message looks at both Joshua and David and considers the value of -holy resolution.-

Each new year seems to be an opportunity to turn over a new leaf, start new habits or break bad ones. Romans 12-1-2 explains what--the NT has to say about resolutions.

As our Advent celebration comes to an end, we look at the visit of the magi and their determined and sincere worship of God.
