Some things never change. The people of Babble, in Genesis 11, built a city and tower so they wouldn't get scattered, so things wouldn't change, and for their own glory and greatness. We build cities and towers in our own lives, in an effort to control our fates. But God is in control. We are infinitely more fulfilled and at peace when we obey Him.

God put together a plan. In the fullness of time, He fulfilled the promise He made in Genesis, chapter 3. The culmination of the geologies we read in Genesis 10, 11, and Matthew 1 occurs with the coming of Christ, the crushing of the serpent's head, and the defeat of sin. That is the gospel.

When we sin, we are trying to satisfy our longings with something other than God. That's idolatry. It begins with the question, "Is God really good" and proceeds to our shaking our fists at God. Sin is an attack on God's goodness and character.

God isn't just some out of touch creator who set the world spinning and then took off. He is intimately involved in our lives.

Without Genesis, the rest of the Bible doesn't make sense. The rest of the Bible, all of history, in fact all of life is about God!

The depth and riches of our spiritual blessings in Christ includes being part of God's family with Christ as King.

Followers of Christ are made an inheritance, part of the heritage of God's chosen people, and given an unimaginable spiritual inheritance as His children.

As followers of Christ, we don't stumble in the dark trying to achieve enlightenment. God has revealed to us his redemptive plan.

In Christ, we are the forgiven, redeemed, chosen children of Almighty God!
