Dear Johnny,

I'm writing for help for me and my family. It's been a tough year for us. We are unable to get our heat turned on this winter due to financial difficulties. It's me, my mother, my two brothers with autism, my grandfather and my grandmother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2021.

My mother has become a full-time caregiver for my grandmother and watching to make sure everybody is taken care of. We have really buckled down to try and catch up, but we just can't seem to get there. They are on a fixed income and I work as many hours as I can to take things off of their plate and make things warmer and safer.

We are currently relying on space heaters and electric blankets to stay warm, but it would be such a blessing for us to have heat. I didn't realize the gas had been shut off sometime around May or June due to past due bills.

After the past couple years of my grandmother getting her diagnosis and my grandfather and mother having to dedicate so much time to taking care of my brothers and grandmother, things have been an immense struggle. The overdue bill to get the heat turned back on is $2500 and I just don't know where to turn.
