  • Jesus is our Lifeline Through Life and Death
Upon conception the gift of life is in order. But, how long will we live? These past few months, I have been to more funeral/memorial services than I care to count. My family members, friends and colleagues are dying! In the midst of it all, I asked this question, "How is it that my 97 year old aunt is still living and my cousin's daughter who was age 35 died?" After much sadness, weeping and prayer, I landed on my feet, standing firmly on my biblical foundation and the promises of God. There is comfort in knowing that when we go home to be with the Lord our work is complete. "The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1 (NIV) God knows the exact day and hour He will call His children home. It's not an hour too soon nor a day too late. Join us Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 3:30 PM, PST, as we talk about the lifeline we have in Jesus Christ. • Thanksgiving: A Special Day for the Homeless
Thanksgiving Day is a day set aside to show appreciation, gratitude and to give thanks to God. In North America, this annual national holiday is marked by religious observances and a traditional meal including turkey. The holiday commemorates a harvest festival celebrated by the Pilgrims in 1621, and is held in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. I Thess. 5:17 says "...in everything give thanks." On November 22, many are looking forward to gathering with family and friends and having a traditional turkey dinner. It'll be a time of fellowship, laughter, food, and whatever else family traditions hold. Ponder these questions: “Where would you go if you are homeless and without family or friends?” “How would you choose to spend your day?” “With whom might you feast and enjoy a turkey dinner?” Join us Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 3:30 PM, PST,as Yield to the King Ministry shares with you how these questions were answered for the homeless. • God is Love, Justice and Truth
Today, people are looking for love, justice and truth! The masses are standing up and demanding fairness in our neighborhoods, on our jobs, in the streets. You might ask "Who can I turn to for love, justice and truth?" In John 14:6, Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.."  If we are in relationship with Jesus Christ and know Him as Lord and Savior, then we will demonstrate love, stand for justice, and know the truth. The truth will set us free. Join us Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at 3:30 PM,PST, as we feature special guest Nakeya D. Isabell. Ms. Isabell is a Spoken Word artist with a flair for speaking God's truth artistically and with power.  Nakeya will talk about her life's journey and how it is that she landed where she is today. Congratulations is in order for Nakeya's soon-to-be-released Spoken Word album entitled "Love, Justice & Truth".  Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946 Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. • Discipleship: Each One Teach Once - part II
In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus said "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV). Many believers today aspire to be disciples and to make disciples, but don't know how. You may ask, so what is required of the believer to become a discipler? The short answer would be – to pray and receive direction from God, know and use the Bible for instruction, and live a transparent life! Look at it this way, you don't have to be the expert, if you are making the disciple. God does the work and will use you. Rather, it is an opportunity for you the discipler and the disciplee to grow together in faith by learning from one another, laying a solid foundation and holding each other accountable. Join us Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 3:30 PM, PDT, as we discuss a one-to-one ministry where Christians can learn how to "give out" and not just "take in". Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946 Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. • Harvest for the Hungry: What about the Poor?
On September 22, Yield to the King Ministry will host its 2nd annual fundraising event "Harvest for the Hungry".  Our goal is to heighten awareness that  people who are hungry, homeless and displaced are among us. Scripture says, "He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry....."  Psalm 146:7 (NIV) Our mission is to "mirror the love of Jesus Christ by helping all people in need." So it's obvious we want to raise funds to continue serving those in need through the following outreach programs: meal preparation and feeding; income-qualifying rental assistance; and temporary housing advocacy and placement. But more importantly, we aim to offer wholesome fellowship for communities to come together with a common purpose, goal, and effort. We're having a silent auction, raffle, entrainment, food, and looking forward to loads of fun! Join us Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 3:30 PM, PDT, as we talk about the evening's event and how our heavenly Father continues to bless the work and programs of Yield to the King Ministry. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946 Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. • True Leadership Comes from Knowing Self
Believe it or not, leadership just doesn't happen!  It takes hard work, grooming, self-examination, humility, coaching, and the willingness to grow self.  The book of Numbers says Joshua had the spirit of leadership. Num. 27:18 (NIV). God prepared him to lead others. Do you wish to be a leader of yourself and others? If so, then you must know yourself. Be honest and ask yourself these questions --Do I resist change or am I a change agent? Do I prefer to work in a silo or do I like to collaborate? Do I forgive easily? Who inspires me? Will I be transformed so I can transform others? Join us Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at 3:30 PM, PDT, with special guest Hylke Faber, leader of Constancee and the Growth Leaders Network. Mr. Faber, born in the Netherlands and based in the United States, is author of Taming Your Crocodiles: Unlearn Fear & Become A True Leader. Based on his book, which was recommended by Bloomberg as one of the 10 best books on leadership in 2018, Hylke will explore the analogy of listening to our "crocodiles" vs. our "owl" and when to know which one is talking.  Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946 Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry.  You can reach us anytime through our website www.yieldtothekingministry.org

  • Give Back with Purpose: A Community Tour
"....It is more blessed to give than to receive", according to Apostle Paul, in Acts 20:35, who quoted our Lord, Jesus Christ. Years ago, I did not understand its true meaning. Recently, however, I witnessed this Scripture in action.  In August, I traveled to the Dominican Republic, the other half of the island next to Haiti, in Eastern Caribbean  Yield to the King Ministry visited Casa Martina, a girls orphanage.  Their mission is to offer a place of safety for children. Abandoned girls live in the orphanage from ages three to 23.  They also get to attend school for free.  I saw the mighty hand of God at work in their lives. I heard testimonials about the older young ladies who grew up in the orphanage and chose to remain to teach and pour into the lives of the younger children.    Join us Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at 3:30 PM, PDT, as I share with you what I learned about the staff, children, and founder of Casa Martina. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946 Hope 4 Today is an outreach ministry of Yield to the King Ministry. • Food for Thought and the Brain
Have you asked yourself this question, "What must I do to keep my brain healthy?" Some may answer exercise, sleep, and live well. Others may insist on eating healthily and include all the brain foods. And some believe that stimulating your mind by learning new things will keep your brain fit.  All of these assertions hold some truth.  However, we should also consider what the Word of God says in Colossians chapter 3, verse 2 "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." The human brain is an organ that serves as the central nervous system. It controls the functions of the body. Today, more and more people are being diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's stages, and experiencing stroke and behavioral health issues. Join us Tuesday, August 14, at 3:30 PM, PDT,with special guest Jeanie McKay, CPC, ELI-MP, Chief Learning Officer and founder of MindZone. Jeanie will share with us her personal journey and why she has chosen to offer the necessary information and resources for a healthy brain. Jeanie's blog is OctaneForTheBrain.com. Jeanie is also author of the book entitled Octane for the Brain. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946 Hope 4 Today is an outreach ministry of Yield to the King Ministry. • Empty Spaces: A time for Letting Go - part II
"Empty Spaces: The Dynamics of Life" is a story about redemption, by Corey Thompson. Corey wrote his story years ago and little did he know that God would open doors for his book to be published in 2018. God in His perfect timing asked Corey to share his story about life, self-evaluation, growth, taking ownership, forgiveness, and healing. Corey Thompson resides in Seattle, Washington, and attends Church by the Side of the Road in Tukwila, Washington. He has a heart for youth and has served with church youth groups and youth organizations such as Young Life. He knows the struggles of our youth today – he's been there, done that!  And, chances are he's been in some of the same places where most of our youth find themselves today. Corey, however, allowed God to fill his empty spaces and today he is sharing his story of redemption. Join us Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at 3:00 PM, PDT, as we feature our guest Corey Thompson, author of Empty Spaces: The Dynamics of Life. Corey's book is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946 Hope 4 Today is an outreach ministry of Yield to the King Ministry.
