Hello everyone, it's Hivelearners creative Sunday and for this week, I'd be sharing with you all how I made a creative twisting braid for my sister 🥰. I actually made a video showing the process of how it was made so anyone can get an idea of how it is done.


For you to make any cool braids, you need some things for it and for twisting braids, I used a pack of attachment, edge control, hair cream and a comb. These things are quite easy to get but then they are expensive now especially the attachment. We were lucky enough to have gotten it for just $2.6 but now it's over 4 dollars now.

So the first thing I did was to cut my attachment into three sections, and then I picked them so it can have a softer feel. I think that took me roughly 30 minutes. After that I added hair cream to them to make it shine. After finishing with the attachment, I had to set my tripod stand to start making my videos.


I cut the hair into sections and used the edge control to help me get a clearer cut, it was box braids mostly but I did some creative cuttings at the middle. Since it was a big twisting braid, I had to start the style with just her hair *(we call it knotless braids)* then I started adding attachment to it little by little. My sister was the one who gave me the attachment herself so it could be faster.

It was a bit challenging because she wasn't doing so well in health but I'm glad she has something that kept her busy *(kdrama 😃)*. After I finished the hair to a particular point, I had to stop the video to take a picture of it at interval as you can see below. Though it's been a while I made an hair do for anyone, I wasn't so tired making my sister's hair because I loved the outcome of every single braid on her.

After I finished making her hair, I had to twist the braids again to make it shorter just like the style we wanted. After that I added the hair to hot water to make it relaxed and firm. The outcome became even more beautiful and lovely although that process was the hardest for me because of the hot water. It was too hot that just the steam could burn you 😂.

Anyways, seeing how beautiful the hair was made it really compensating for me. I tried to style her hair to look like the model we were using and it was cool. You will find it in the video so make sure to watch it very well. I actually added something in the video that you will love to see so try not to miss that view 🥰.

Braids are my thing but then they are more stressful than any other kind of hairstyles though it depends on the kind of braid you want to make. I do love easy but beautiful braids, I specifically hate tiny braids but they can be so fine too.

Fridays can be fun but stressful at the same time. By this time last week, I went with my sister and her husband to the market to get some food stuffs for the house. It was a sunny Friday and it was really dusty and dry at the market. We drove there and we parked the car at a side and used our legs for the walk inside the market. The Oko market is a big market in Asaba and things are a lot cheaper there than in other markets and that's why we went there.

It was my first time in the market so I just kept following the footsteps of my brother-in-law at the back so I don't over walk, hehe. It was a fun experience for me though stressful and I think for them too because we had some really interesting experiences while trying to get all the things we needed. Just when we thought things were going to be cheaper at the market like I mentioned earlier, it was as if the price of things were even doubled, buying became a bit hard because we had our budget going there.

First, we went inside the market to look for a good beef (cow meat) to buy and we found one that was quite cheap and big too, after bargaining we asked the man to cut it for us. We then went to get crayfish and grounded melon since we had plans of preparing Egusi soup (fried melon soup). The melon was a bit expensive but we still bought the quantity we needed and then we went to get fish too which we needed in preparing stew too.

While we were going to get palm oil, we saw a lady selling star orange popularly called cherry. I convinced my sister to get some because they looked nice but it wasn't so nice after all. We were able to get basically all the things we needed inside the market and we headed back to the start of the market to get fresh tomatoes and fresh pepper because that was the major place where we could see them more.

There was a particular man we wanted to patronize but his price was way too higher than we expected so my sister and I decided to go to somewhere else to bargain the price and we were able to get it at a very cheaper price. You needed to see how happy we were because we were already worried we won't see it at the price we wanted but we did.

Going round the market was quite exposing but it was so stressful because the market was filled with so many people and it was a really hot day. The market looked so unkempt too and I was a bit not comfortable with it but when I realized I had only few hours to spend there, so I I just tried to comport myself so I don't draw any attention to myself. Finally we got all we needed and we went back home.

Oh right! While we were on our way back from the market, had to go to the bank to deposit some money and after that we went to visit my sister's Father in-law. The journey was quite stressful but it was all worth it in the end. We prepared our food and ate something really nice that evening. I didn't take a picture of it because at that point I was already tired and all that was in my mind was how to eat, make a post, take a cold bath and rest!

It's already the 95th week of Afritunes weekly contest, so for this week I did an acapella song cover of a very popular song here in Nigeria. The name of the artist is Ayra Starr. I love her for how she puts her lyrics together and her voice, it's beautiful. I'm not a good singer like her but I do have plans of becoming a good singer like her sooner than later, hehe.

Yesterday I went for my friends marriage introduction and I'm still at her place today so I decided to do a music video for the afritunes community. I tried thinking of which song to sing but the only song that kept coming to my mind to sing was Ayra's song and that was what I settled for.


Nowadays making videos seem like something so hard to do and that's because of obvious reasons, I don't do it all the time. As they say, practice makes perfect and I don't practice video making all the time and now I feel like it's my first time trying out video making. Well, I'm at least happy I could share my beautiful voice with you today and I hope you receive it well anytime you get to listen to it.

Like I said, the song was sang by Ayra Starr and it's titled **RUSH**. I did an acapella cover of the song which made it as complicated as it was, lol. Singing this song, I sentmade some silly mistakes which I tried to correct while editing the video, you can look out for them, hehe.

The reason why I chose this song is for the fact that it's already a new year and I can obviously see the hand of God all over me. So many people keep asking me that how come I'm glowing, well it's all the work of God. ***Na God dey make my tap dey Rush.*** It has never been by my power at any point, it has always been God.

I know so many people will be shocked by the meaning I've read to a song that is secular, well I do see the song as the normal words we speak and what Ayra sang in the song is all correct and relatable and that is the meaning I chose to read from the song after listening to it so many times.

Unlike usual, I went to the market with my sister on a Monday due to an urgent fabric she needed with some other things that she also had to get. Normally we usually visit the market mostly on weekends but that had to change on that day because she had an urgent appointment to meet up with. Even prior to the day we visited this particular market, we've visited others for this same fabric but we couldn't find what matches well.


We went round almost every part of the market but we couldn't find exactly what we needed so we had to settle for something that was really close to what we wanted. While we stopped by at the shop where we found something that matches a little closer to what we needed, I thought of making a video which I also shared in this blog.


This particular fabric my sister is holding, was one of the things that gave us an headache looking for but we somehow found something that matches a little close to what we needed. We also looked for a White net material which was also difficult for us to look for. My sister will be getting married soon so the white net material was what she wanted for her Court wedding while the fabric she wanted was a dullface for a customer's dress.

The market we went to was the town's general market so it's the best place we could go for anything we wanted. So many people visit this market more than others because that's the major place they can get what they need.



My sister was looking stressed just like I was because it was not really easy finding so many things but we were able to get almost half of the things we wanted and that made us happy.

The video I was making made my sister smiled a little despite the stress.



So many people who came to shop we were at,seemed a bit perplexed by the fact that I was making a video especially this lady, hehe.



I was not so comfortable making the video because I knew some people don't like being photographed but I was surprised no one complained, phew!

I tried to show a little landscape of the area where I was in the market but I couldn't do it well because it felt a bit too obvious it was for a blog .



I talked a lot in the video but it was not so composed so I didn't let the voice out.

It was a really fun but stressful experience at the market that day but I was glad I could at least make this much memory from it. The search was not so favorable but I'm glad we could at least get what my sister needed for her client's dress.

*Hello my beautiful and handsome afri-listners...*

It's already the 94th week of Afritunes weekly contest, so for this week I did something different and special. I couldn't do my usual introduction on my video because I didn't sing alone this time and I'm sorry about that. I saw an opportunity and I made good use of it because it's not one that comes by easily.

It was about two weeks ago when my siblings and I went to visit a friend and when we got there his place was so quiet and the only thing that came to my mind was to create a music video because it was so hard to make a video at our place because of the too much noise there.

At first I thought of singing on my own but while I tried singing on my own they kept singing along so I just asked them to join me in singing! They were a bit reluctant but I'm glad in the end they agreed to join me. Our friend was a bit shy but the fact that he loves singing couldn't make him run so far, hehe.

That day we actually sang another song before we sang an African song titled *EJIRO'GHENE ME'NA* which I'm presenting in this video. It's an urhobo song which means *LET US PRAISE THE LORD*. The song was composed by a group called ***The SACRED SINGERS,*** an Acapella group in Nigeria. It was an easy song that we all could easily blend in to sing and it's a song I've never sang here before because it's best to sing this kind of song with a group.

It's one of the songs I love singing when I want to praise God and I'm very sure you'd like it too and it's super easy to learn. Now I'm actually thinking of how other Nigeria tribes would sing it! So don't hesitate to try singing it in your own dialet. My younger brother lead the song, my sister sang the tenor part, our friend sang the bass part and myself sang the alto part.

I hope you enjoy the sweet blend of melody and also glorify God with us even as you sing along.

I personally love the theme for this week because that's exactly how I've been feeling lately. I feel grateful for the beautiful people in my life, I feel grateful for the fact that I'm not having a hard time that don't seem to be ending and I feel grateful most especially for how God has kept me up until this point. I know how many people I've lost on the way but here I am, I've still got the opportunity to say how grateful I am to God and to everyone in my life.

This is the hive open mic week 192 with the theme **GRATEFUL** which was chosen by @ wallay who is the spotlight artist for this week. Seeing the theme made me reflect on so many things that has been going on in my life and the truth is they all end in praises to God almighty. He gave me life and a beautiful one at that. I know there are so many people out there who wish to have half of my life and here I am enjoying it to the fullest.

So in respect to the theme **GRATEFUL**, I pleaded with my siblings to join me in singing one of our favorite song and we even sang it also with a friend who we happen to visit. It was all like a joke at first but they realized I was serious and they just had to sing with me, hehe. We did an Acapella cover of the song **OCEANS**. We actually sang the praise and harmony version of the song.

The song is an uplifting one and it is a song that comes to my mind most times to sing because the words of the song are beautiful and they speak to the heart. The song always help me to be in the mood of reminiscing on the things God has done for me. The lyrics is one that I believe everyone can relate with if they don't force it.

While we were singing, I was just so happy because I normally enjoy the song when more than one person sings it and also when I get the chance to sing as a backup. Our friend was our bass singer and he was a bit shy but totally happy singing with us. My siblings were also happy as well. My sister sang the lead part (soprano), I sang the alto part, my brother sang the tenor part and our friend sang the bass part and that was how we came up with something that beautiful.

I know we had some flat notes and that was because we didn't rehearsal singing that song prior to when we sang it and also it was due to too much excitement. But still you will enjoy listening to us, so I'd advise you make use of your earpiece for a better experience. And if you've not listened to the song yet, please do and leave your honest feedback.

Personalmente me encanta el tema de esta semana porque así es exactamente como me he sentido últimamente. Me siento agradecido por las personas hermosas en mi vida, me siento agradecido por el hecho de que no estoy pasando por un momento difícil que no parece terminar y me siento muy agradecido especialmente por cómo Dios me ha mantenido hasta este momento. Sé cuántas personas he perdido en el camino pero aquí estoy, todavía tengo la oportunidad de decir lo agradecido que estoy con Dios y con todos en mi vida.

Esta es la semana 192 de micrófono abierto de Hive con el tema **AGRADECIDO** que fue elegido por @ wallay, quien es el artista destacado de esta semana. Ver el tema me hizo reflexionar sobre tantas cosas que han estado pasando en mi vida y la verdad todas terminan en alabanzas a Dios todopoderoso. Él me dio vida y una hermosa además. Sé que hay mucha gente que desea tener la mitad de mi vida y aquí estoy disfrutándola al máximo.

Entonces, con respecto al tema **AGRADECIDO**, les supliqué a mis hermanos que se unieran a mí para cantar una de nuestras canciones favoritas e incluso la cantamos también con un amigo que visitamos. Al principio fue todo como una broma pero se dieron cuenta que hablaba en serio y solo tuvieron que cantar conmigo, jeje. Hicimos una versión acapella de la canción **OCEANS**. De hecho cantamos la versión de alabanza y armonía de la canción.

La canción es edificante y es una canción que me viene a la mente la mayoría de las veces para cantar porque las palabras de la canción son hermosas y le hablan al corazón.

La canción siempre me ayuda a tener ganas de recordar las cosas que Dios ha hecho por mí. La letra es una con la que creo que todos pueden identificarse si no la fuerzan. Mientras cantábamos, estaba muy feliz porque normalmente disfruto la canción cuando más de una persona la canta y también cuando tengo la oportunidad de cantar como respaldo.

Nuestro amigo era nuestro bajista y era un poco tímido pero totalmente feliz cantando con nosotros. Mis hermanos también estaban felices. Mi hermana cantó la parte principal (soprano), yo canté la parte de alto, mi hermano cantó la parte de tenor y nuestro amigo cantó la parte de bajo y así fue como se nos ocurrió algo tan hermoso.

Sé que teníamos algunas notas planas y eso se debió a que no ensayamos cantando esa canción antes de cantarla y también se debió a demasiada emoción. Pero aun así disfrutarás escuchándonos, por lo que te recomiendo que utilices tu auricular para disfrutar de una mejor experiencia. Hello my viewers, welcome to my vlog for the Hivelearners creative Sunday. Today I decided to share a *"do it yourself (diy)"* video of me making my friends hair. For a while now I've been procrastinating on when to share this video because I haven't gotten enough time for the edit. I made this hair close to a month ago, my friend was going for her national Youth service corps *(NYSC)* so she wanted an hairstyle that would last her for a good time.

I made kinky braids for her. The kinky attachment is mostly called a natural hair because it has the features of a natural hair. We decided to make the kinky braids because it is one hair that always looks new no matter how long you've made it, all you need to do is add a little water and a good cream then style it. We got two pack of the kinky attachment because we wanted to make sure would be enough for the style we've chosen.


To make the style she wanted, all that is needed is the kinky attachment, cream to make the kinky soft and a cutting comb. We got everything ready and we went ahead to start working. It's been a while I last made a hair do for anyone so I was a bit nervous of how it will turn out to be but luckily for me it was nice and beautiful on my friend.

To start a kinky braid, the first thing you want to put into consideration is the customers satisfaction. My friend prefers a box braid so that was what I gave to her. She also wanted the braids to be long and big so that was what I did for her. So to make a box braid, I had to cut a straight line from left to right and then cut it again into different sections to form the big box that is needed.


If you watch the video very well, you'd see how I started the braid from the scratch. I was almost done with making her hair before I thought of making a video of it but the good thing is I was able to capture the best part of it. I don't know if there is anyone who would like to learn from the scratch how to make this twisting braid can request for a more detailed video.

I didn't really show the process step by step in the video, my major focus was just to show you all what I can do and what I do. Now you understand why I have the stylist attached to my name making it hopestylist, hehe. Henceforth I'd try to share more videos of how I make different hair do and share with you all. Note, I don't make all the styles yet but I might start giving them a try and see how well I'd perform.

Hello everyone, it's hive open mic week 191 with the theme *BEAUTIFUL PETS* chosen by @alex-rourke. I don't have any pets and that's because I wasn't trained with pets around me but then I do find most pets adorable especially in movies. I'm a very huge fan of Barbie movies and one of the reasons is because in most of these movies, Barbie always had one beautiful pet that would make you wish you had a pet.

Pets are most times emotional support animals as Walter said in the movie *"spies in disguise"*I, hehe. But as we've seen, not everyone is fortunate to have a pet and I'm one of those people. Just listening to our artist of the week make his entry, I was also just wishing I could have a pet so I could maybe have composed a song for it too just like Alex did. If there is one pet I would love to have, it would be a **pigeon.**

Pigeons are quite interesting animals and I think they make good pets. So let's assume for some minutes that I have a pigeon as a pet, then I'd love to sing this beautiful song from the movie Barbie the Island Princess. The song is titled ***[ALWAYS MORE]()***. The song is a song of love, it's a song that reminds us of making room for more people and not feeling insecure when those you love creates room for others when you are there.

Sometimes we get so worried when we see those we love showing more attention to others than they show to us and that might make us feel really insecure and it might make us even do things we shouldn't have done. Most of your pets can be like that too because they hate to share the love they get from their owner with somebody else. In the song we were made to understand that everybody is born to care and it's something we are meant to share and not to keep to ourselves alone.

Making room for others will only make the circle grow! That is to say the friend of your friend becomes my friend too and that should be a good thing. Most times pets are so selfish of the love they are shown by those that love them and they find it quite hard to share that with someone else but then as owners of these pets, we can still find them beautiful at this point still, all we have to do is explain things to them just like Rosella did to Tika.

Hello my dear viewer, it's afritunes week 92 and today I'm here with a song cover by Johnny Drille titled *HOW ARE YOU MY FRIEND*. This song has a really weird lyrics to me though but I think it's quite relatable but it's more or less like a fictional song in terms of the chosen words if you ask me 😂. Who in his right mind will go and make money for somebody because he or she is their friend? I think that's wickedness in the highest order 🤧. You should let your friend work too man!


So like I said, I'm singing this song because I take the lyrics to be fictional as I don't think there is anyone doing what is said in the song but if there is any,well done but please stop it you are not a good friend 😒 *(this is me taking the lyrics literally)*. Now I think I'm getting too personal about this whole thing, don't mind me, just do what you think is the best and feel is good.

The song is all about a friend being there for his or her friend *(now this is me interpreting the lyrics as I think was in the mind of Drille)*. I believe that's the main lesson the song was trying to send but it just exaggerated the whole lyrics, hehe. Being there for a friend is something that we don't see easily so I guess in this song John was trying to tell anyone that cares to listen to be a good friend to those they call their friend even without caring what the friend has to give in return.

As a friend you should be more concerned of your role in that relationship and leave the other person to also figure out their own role as well. No matter how long it takes, just make sure you don't let it get to you, just make sure you do what you have to do to be a good friend and if the other person is not a good friend, it's only a matter of time before they'd leave so don't worry too much.

I guess I've over interpreted the song *(I don't understand why all these things is happening right now 😂)* but like I tried to say, it's just my opinion and I do hope you enjoy enjoy my song cover. Hello my friends, today I tried a different kind of creativity post, although it's not my first time but on a normal day I know someone was expecting a music video from me, hehe. So today I'd be sharing a short video on how to make a simple homemade spaghetti that no matter what you'd enjoy it! *(I know someone is already saying never in their minds, lol)* well just sit back and watch how I make that magic happen with just little things.

So first things first, let's get to know the ingredients I used for my spaghetti...

* Of course we do need a spaghetti/macaroni (I actually made use of both, interesting right? Hehe).

* We need our fresh tomatoes, fresh pepper, onion, crayfish, tomato paste and your seasoning. In this case, my only seasoning were salt and Maggi.

* You will also be needing palm oil or groundnut oil. For mine, I made use of Palm oil because that's what I prefer. Either ways, which ever oil you made use of, it's the same process!

* Then I also made use of egg and fried chicken *(I didn't include the chicken to my spaghetti when cooking because it was not prepared by me)*

So, when you have all of these things ready, then you are so good to go! So now that I see you are ready, let me guide you on how to made those ingredients turn into something delicious, hehe.

##### PROCEDURE

First you put a dry pot on your cooker and add your oil (palm oil or groundnut oil) and then you wait for it to get hot *~~(not very hot though)~~*. Then you add your diced onion, fresh tomatoes and peppers and also your crayfish then stir for just few seconds. After a minute, you add your tomato paste and stir again. After adding your tomato paste, you can add in any protein you have *(fish, beef, turkey, chicken or egg)*.

After leaving it for few seconds, add your seasonings and add a little water, then leave it to dry again. Once it's dried, you can then reduce the heat from your cooker and then pour in your well cooked spaghetti or macaroni to the sauce. Now you have to stir it very well and make sure it mix very well. Once that is done, then you are ready to enjoy your meal!


It's not a very hard procedure but then it does produce a very great result trust me. I'm not a professional cook but then I just try my best to make sure my food is something worth eating no matter who decides to try it. So after I finished preparing my spaghetti and marcaroni, I also shared a video of my siblings and I enjoying it, hehe. Just make sure to watch the video to the end if you want to see that, lol.
