As we continue in our series unpacking 2 Timothy, we will be seeing the way the apostle Paul encourages a young Pastor and protégé, Timothy.

These letters were written to provide him with encouragement and fortitude in the face of difficulties and trials, and can do the same for us today! Although Paul penned these letters from a prison cell towards the end of his life, he continued trusting that God had him right where He wanted him.

Instead of focusing on his situation, the aging apostle turned his attention to others, specifically to the church and to his young protégé, Timothy.

Join us this 4th of July weekend as we unpack what it means to be Independent as well as showing Dependence on God! We will see that True Freedom only comes from Dependence on God.

1. God never forces His presence upon anyone.

2. God has never been absent from the world.

3. In the time in between Eden and Eternity, God’s presence is always mediated.

This morning, Pastor Denes will be unpacking Acts 2 and The Day of Pentecost. This day in which God poured out The Holy Spirit upon the Disciples is the beginning of the work of the Spirit in the Early Church.

Main Point: When the Spirit came, it radically changed the reality of God's people and should change our lives today!

We have been, and will maintain the challenge to reframing our Worldview through the lenses of 3 questions:

• What can we do to fix it​?​

This morning as we look at what it means to have "Honor in a Cancel culture" and how we are called to live a life of honor, especially in these tough times.

Unpacking what it means to Honor God, as well as those around us, we will see that even in the culture that we live in that seems to operate without any code of honor, we are called to live as Jesus did by humbly serving.

We will also be honoring Kevin Brown for his faithful service in multiple roles at Horizon for 24 years!
