Horror Movie Review, The "You Run" Podcast episodes

  • In A Violent Nature (2024)

We do not see eye to eye this week as we look at this killer POV slasher from 2024.

Marc is fully in for this new take on the sub-genre praising its innovation and decision making with kills and characters. I think this is soulless and have no patience to watch the killer walk from location to location to take people out.

Wherever you sit on this be safe in the knowledge you are fully represented on this episode.

We also have interactive features, facts, a game, and a whole lot of laughing, bickering and fun.

    We made it! Episode 200!!

It's a big occasion and with that comes a big episode. Our review of the 1985 classic The Return Of The Living Dead (which incredibly I haven't seen before). Movie facts, interactive features where you share your thoughts on the film and hit us with some good old fashioned playground insults.

Not to mention as voted by you Marc gets quizzed but not in the way you or he expected. We also make a very interesting announcement at the end of the show that will change the landscape of You Run Podcast forever.

Now with all that having been said use your "Brraaiinnss" click play and lets get cracking into one of our best ever episodes!

  • Cuckoo (2024)

Cuckoo despite having a disappointing box office outing received extremely positive critical and general audience reviews.

As we enter our moth covering movies we missed over the last few years we take a look at this Indy, low budget horror and wade in with our opinions.

In addition to our review we have a brand new game to play that will 100% become a reoccurring spot on the show. We check our voicemails and deal with more messages defending cats and Funko-pops, questions on Marc's knowledge of Red Dragon and a listener who we have upset and please all at the same time.

We also reangled together some facts and figures for you to digest and had a whole lot of fun in the process.

We welcome you to take part in our episodes by sending us a e-mail or voicemail as we discuss on the episode or just drop us a comment.

  • The Mummy (1999)

Today for some reason we are not covering a horror movie (Marc added it to the poll, what can I say) despite the fact that it is a debate if we should be coving The Mummy this episode is a banger!

We are joined by the hosts of The Horror Friendly Podcast, Katie & Chantel who are always a tone of fun and a bit of a handful to keep under control.

Get ready for a balls to the wall crazy affair with tangents including Katie's endless confidence that she can "fix him" and Chantel tells us all about "cloud watching"

Somewhere in there is a review of the Brendan Fraser classic but its mainly chaos from start to finish.

We also have an interactive feature that generates a lot of laughter and a performance on Broken Spirit that was simply impeccable.

Do not miss out on this episode, be sure to check out the Horror Friendly Podcast and don't forget to pass comment on Spotify our social media or on the You of the Tube.

If you enjoy the show please make sure you subscribe wherever you are and have a wonderful week!

  • Dawn of The Dead (2004)

Regular listeners will know that I am not a huge fan of zombie movies, then we have Marc who is.

Marc has spent years introducing various "classics" to me for me to only shoot them down for all the things I hate about the sub genre.

Is that about to change with the remake of Dawn of the Dead? Honestly I really hope so!

Dawn of the dead follows a group of zombie apocalypse survivors as they hold up in a shopping mall. Taking a very different approach to the original while still paying tribute to the source material Dawn 2004 brings us a new innovative look at the world of zombies and how we as people would interact with that world.

As always this episode features our review, movie facts, a game, a new feature called "What are they looking at" which is filled with your amazing suggestions.

If you are a fan of zombies or not this episode is a banger.

  • Red Dragon (2002)

Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton, Ralph Finnes, Philip Seymour Hoffman and many more legends grace the cast of this movie but how does it stack up against the original 1986 Manhunter?

This and many more questions are answered today as we bring you our review of the prequel to Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon.

As well as our review we have the last "memes to make you mad" for a little while and a fun game all about hot felons. That is not even mentioning all of the voicemails and interaction from all of you.

Remakes month is definitely now in full swing.

  • The Fetus (2025) with Director Joe Lam

This week we take a break from our remakes month to bring you a look at a brand new movie. The Fetus film was kind enough to offer us a screener of this upcoming horror movie from director Joe Lam.

Starring Bill Mosley, Lauren Lavera & Julian Curtis this film takes an interesting look at pregnancy horror with a twist of possession and extreme body horror.

In today's episode we give you a more spoiler free look at the film followed by an interview with the man behind it. We also share some of your thoughts in caption this and play a game that you can all play along with.

Independent film have always been the lifeblood of cinema and we are delighted to share this movie with you.

  • Pet Sematary (2019)

We are kicking off "Remakes Month" with the 2019 adaptation of Stephen Kings Pet Sematary.

Starring John Lithgow this reimagining took all the key points of the original movie and the book as flipped them on their head to offer audiences some new surprises and scares.

The question is were those changes good or did they simply ruin a story we all know love and fear?

On this episode we answer that question as we give our review of the movie, we also share your thoughts and bring back from the dead an old feature (quite fitting for this episode I think)

Be sure to drop us a comment or send us a voicemail with your thoughts and don't forget "Sometimes dead is better"!

  • Freddy's Dead, The Final Nightmare (1991)

This week we are joined by the man who puts the pop in Pop culture, the host of Pop Culture Reflections Podcast Justin.

I'm going to say, you let him down with this movie pick but oh my did it give us a lot to talk about...

Powergloves, bad kung-fu, terrible acting, awful dialogue and all round a bad, bad 90s slasher.

This episode includes our in-depth review, facts, voicemails from our listeners, lots of laughing and of course the return of Broken Spirit.

Be sure to leave is a comment with your thoughts, share the show with a friend and leave us that all important 5 star review so we can reach more people.

  • Bride of Chucky (1998)

After his demise at the end of Child's Play 3, Chucky's remains are put into police storage until his old flame tiffany Valentine bribes them into her possession.

With a quick bit of sewing and some voodoo for dummies the wise cracking doll is back in business. Tiffany however in unhappy with Chucky's new attitude which ultimately leads to her demise and should transfer into a doll of her own.

We now go on a wild adventure to retcon the lore of the entire series while delivering some laughs along the way.

In this weeks episode we bring you our review of Bride of chucky, some movie facts, listener thoughts and as always a few hot takes and a tonne of laughs.
