Now why did we do 5 years in one Olympiad? Well, we rationalized it because the next Olympics, Tokyo 2021 will transpire 5 years after Rio 2016. But the main reason we wanted to include 2016 was because 2016 was so loaded with great horror films. So we figured that would just add to the fun, and we were right.

As for the format, it’s pretty simple. We cover 9 Oscar categories including Visual FX, Original & Adapted Screenplay, all 4 lead and supporting performances, best director, and picture. Then we each declare a Best of the Year as we hand out Gold, Silver, & Bronze medals to our top 3’s, which means two of those bests “Do Not Medal.”
