Room service attendant: Good evening, ma'am. Where would you like me to place your meal?

Guest: On the desk in the corner, please.

Room service attendant: Certainly, ma'am. (begins placing plates, utensils, etc.)

Guest: Please place the cup on the left side. I'm left-handed.

Room service attendant: Of course, ma'am.

(pause)

Guest: I'm impressed.

Room service attendant: Pardon me, ma'am?

Guest: I'm impressed. Usually the room service attendants just put the tray on the table and excuse themselves. You actually seem to know what you are doing.

Room service attendant: Well thank you ma'am. They train us well here at Hotel Innovative and we always try to do our best.

Guest: And I thank you for it. Having competent help makes all the difference at a hotel.

Room service attendant: Yes, ma'am. Will there be anything else?

Guest: What's your name?

Room service attendant: Alex, ma'am. Alex Jackson.

Guest: Well, Alex Jackson, I'll put in a good word for you with your supervisor.

Room service attendant: Thank you very much, ma'am.
