Hot for Creature

This movie was kind of a musical and so is this episode! The creatures sing a lot! They also talk about action movie franchises and queer subtext as they dive into this surprisingly deep Brazilian werewolf fantasy.

Aka Creatures on a Train. The creepies watched this 2015 direct-to-video indie movie and talked bottle movies, Wikipedia articles, bossa nova music and practiced their Homestar Runner impressions!

Rob and Dylan watched this movie and had thoughts! They had a lot of fun imagining their version of this movie and talked Lucio Fulci, Bubba Ho-tep, movie budgets, Phantasm and more.

Dylan and Rob's minds are wandering in the pandemic, but don't be fooled- they have a lot to say about this movie. They talk an irresponsible amount about Frozen, Dylan gives his thoughts on the new Mulan reboot and the creatures discuss the found footage boom and how it affected this unique take on the werewolf movie.

This week the creatures are tussling their hair a bit, putting on their peasant clothes and trekking out into the wilderness with the teen rom-dram Red Riding Hood. They are joined by Rob's friend and officiant Eponymous John to talk Twilight, horror royalty, bad movies, Battlestar Galactica, The Craft: Legacy and hot wolfy dudes.

Even a creature who is pure of heart and says their prayers by night may watch a remake of a previous film, and it might be alright. The creatures tread familiar ground and watch 2010 REMAKE of the classic The Wolf Man. This one is a lot darker- and they may even be able to see some of it. Rob continues their marathon of Disney Plus Halloween favorites and Dylan falls for the charm of Benicio. Awoo indeed.

Rob and Dylan watched this mid-2000s movie and confronted some demons along the way! They discuss The Haunted Mansion, Disney parks, Color Out Of Space, bad CGI, Wes Craven and the magic of Judy Greer. Dylan also does his Nicolas Cage impression, so that's something!

The creatures are taking on their first Japanese movie of the podcast with the help of rapper/singer Rocco Capotal. This week they watch the samurai-werewolf-horror epic Kibakichi and talk way too much about Rob's passion for Dune and Dylan's for Showgirls. Also discussed is The Master of Disguise, a lot of Yojimbo, Zatoichi, the cult of British television, The Matrix… and… more Dune and Showgirls?

The creatures synchronize their watches and bound into the action/horror cult hit Dog Soldiers with the help of war movie devotee and king of obituaries Noah Daub-Evans. They discuss Neil Marshall, war films, Bill and Ted, scoring, toxic masculinity and a weird amount about Willem Defoe's farts.

Hey kids! Welcome to our family friendly episode of Hot For Creature! Dylan has dutifully removed all the naughty language so we can all talk about Alvin and the Chipmunks together. The creatures are joined by actress/singer Sydney Torres to discuss children's movies, Downton Abbey, soap operas, Arthur, Wolf Man references and Rob and Dylan's former Homestuck obsession! It's a barrel o' fun.
