Valentine’s Day 2021 ! It began w exhaustion & ended w/ my first few hours of relaxation in weeks ( or months) helped in part by generous /unexpected loving kindness. Re-examining FEMA’s rental assistance program and looking to other parts of Oregon to call home! Trying always to keep my heart open too despite the detrimental physical effects from fire dislocation. Its all been more Difficult than anything I ever would’ve imagined! just the sound of rain today - was a godsend. I’m re-examining the future & sending you all love Praying we all find the warmth and shelter we deserve to support our hearts and heal our bodies. Happy Valentine’s Day’ and sending a loving reminder- us Humans need other heart connected humans in times of disaster to help each other thrive

Ep 10 B- We are still all up in dry bureaucracy it’s OK FEMA rental assistance mayb available for 18 months post disaster dont wait We need to get warm safe dry quiet stable functional!! ! i seek independent living with a bath and thats a lbit above my budget. FEMA might help but I am suffering from so much exhaustion & unable to complete proper steps to accessing it!!! getting an advocate /ally legally added to your case is not as entertaining as sex toys ( ep 4 a funny thing happened on the way to housekeeping) but it’s going to help Create stability we need to thrive —Don’t give up asking for what you need and attempting to create all that you deserve ! Yasss! the day before Valentine’s Day I’ll be 53 in a few weeks and I really want to share about all the amazing things that are happening every day and how I’m moving forward in leaps and bounds! unfortunately —-that is not this episode LOL. After I hit the floor ( rock bottom episode 7) an angel came and helped pick me up . The loving ( unpaid) acts that followed were necessary for a human ( me) barely able to function, in survival Mode / due to pain and exhaustion. shit stacks are a real thing- lack of real rest is inhumane and Apparently fire relief is a misnomer of epic proportions. I long for a long hot bath the sound of ocean waves and weeks of warmth, rest and quiet- but am actually drowning beneath stacks of paperwork n a freezing cold rural trailer Feeling feral as fuck is my new normal!! This episode is definitely full of TMI body functions fails and every last detail about life in a trailer that looks super cute....but may sink me! please share w your Friends professional contacts on political allies! welcome to Episode 5 of Hotel Almeda! my (2nd) hotel stay has officially ended! with relocation #13 post Almeda fire! We are off to Camp FEMA ! Its a temporary mobile housing unit ( an RV) What a drastic shift, to a location 50 miles away from my former Southern Oregon home! aside from resting & getting medical treatment ( and the never ending fire relief aid efforts ) my eye is on creating a new future home. Can i reinvest in my community here?. checking out this brand new organization Rouge Valley Solutions! roguevalleysolutions.org is now holding regular zoom meets every Tues - to discuss what is possible for those interested in the rebuilding of our fire devastated communities ! The message was loud and clear- To get our voices heard -We need to join forces! also voices of fire survivors are missing from the convo! What!?! thats not acceptable so save the dare and Attend zoom meets with other amazing community members also participating in the convo - we all want to creatively address housing needs and also to support under insured under resourced and out most valued and vulnerable community members!!!!

Currently we have a severe weather alert here in the PNW! of the thousands of people who have been displaced- i’m now wondering who has accepted Fema subsidized units ? These mobile shelters are offered at an affordable rate to live in -while occupants like myself look for our next, longer term more permanent residence! I had an interesting thing come up with a FEMA sub contractor today while doing my regular fire relief and thought I would share ! I’m asking if anyone out there is having similar experience - and what are the best ways to handle them! Honestly this stuff us just all too crazy and unpredictable for me to have ever even imagined...Buckle up and hang on it’s going to be a bumpy ride!
