Holding FEMA accountable is becoming a full-time job !!! its Only thing I’m doing right now from 6 AM till the sun goes down ! can working on A single agency problem for months? That’s what I’ve been doing so I’m in listing all the help I can find from all the bigger dogs. that’s what it has come too! throwing everything punch that I have bc even when you’re at the federal level -there are oversight agencies to check your BS. if you are still struggling to get disaster relief -listen to all the steps from calling your senator to calling constituent reps to enlisting help online to calling state department agency heads to filling out forms to being relentless & see if they are helpful!!! I learned my technique from Sugar Ray Lenard Mohammad Ali, Clarissa shields and my big sis!!! When they say fight like a girl watch the hell out....

Yep. I’ve done gone and cracked. up. down. open... Called on my angels. Not for help but I told them finally i understand... they are testing me. speaking to helpers thats Some thing I never do. ( bc yo agnostic AF LOL) But I also bow deeply grasp that My legacy is NOT to build a wealth of file folders...!Angels would much prefer to see me ( and all of us) reveling in our bodily riches and learning / knowing / sharing -love beyond words....

this episode we find out when checking up on housing applications potentially the tides turned in my favor.. fdue to the management asking me about my fire survivor status and due to me having paperwork from FEMA we also found a little error that someone missed potentially slowing down my application the Devils in the details and you Gotta always check everything two or three ir 6 times also if you deal with chronic disabling conditions and have a documented disability- Did you know you may qualify for the senior subsidized apartment complexes even if you are younger. -so please always ask. Always drive by affordable apartment complexes in person if you can or Google the images & maps help you determine if it’s a good fit

No matter how hard -keep on keeping on. Theres no rest for the wicked. or the under resourced - and since Fire relief-ing never sleeps -neither can I. Managed to squeeze in 2 days of R&R and 15 new things popped in to add to my overtaxed overfilled to do list! the salt air tho and renewed efforts may result in housing (or at least that’s the good word on the street today from an apartment manager) so we will update later! this would be a great step to stability and independence. Never ever give up this is what advanced/next level self advocacy 2.0 looks like -it takes everything you have. And more!

Chilling here at the coast still! Been feeling much more relaxed and mellow ( as I suspected I might) and vs the past 6 months of angst post fire and home loss. Found magical coffee shop owner by a lovely owner /local real estate agent who loves & knows the area. Also did a couple things that I’ve been trying to do for six months I felt easy and fun working from my car while cooking a meal in front of seal Beach things are just feeling much more mellow and I hope it continues when I re-dip into fire relief and convos with agencies Next week! It’s not rocket science! right rest relaxation good food and feeling were in a supportive place is very very healing ❤️❤️❤️

It’s been a long road ! no it was my decision to head to the Oregon coast... I wouldn’t have gotten this far Without a lot of help. So many times I wanted to give up and it was quite a push and here I am and I’m so glad so let’s all remember to help each other find hone. was it Ram Das that said - we’re just all walking each other home? I think that was metaphorical place but I’m talking about the very real put down your roots land stay where you feel loved and supported and you can move forward! transition #18 may lead to this and I’m going to encourage everyone to continue finding hone - No matter what it takes!

On Ep #29 of Hotel Almeda- we head out to the OR coast & on the way discuss all things coffee! Whn ur in transition you still gotta have the good stuff. you can’t always find it & you Gotta have ways to make it! no matter what the situation! here’s a whole bunch of different ways I have found to create gourmet DYI coffee on the fly! also in Oregon there are some super magical coffee kiosks /coffee stops! My goodness- this goodness must be shared! connies hot stuff coffee kiosk south side Ashland! HWY 199 Cave Junction has Coffee Heaven! Gold Beach 1st Chapter coffee House (inside the Curry Co public library) & Coastal Cup (w/the angel wings memorial graffiti ) 1-5 N- to Portland SeQuential bio station Eugene. the Thai cup top apparatus I mention is a Phin Vietnamese drip coffee maker. FYI I’ve been grabbing Seattle’s best dark roast -pre gound bc its strong bitter/bold avail in many Mainstream markets on the road! In my car I carry a single burner propane camp stove and a single burner plug-in electric burner so I can heat food- no matter what the situation is. I keep a little bottle of instant coffee in my car -for coffee/ caffeine/ headache emergencies. (Medeglia de oro usually) ok Enjoy all things coffee & we will see you down the road at the next Hotel Almeda !!
