This week on Houli’s Hooley, Paddy, Bill, and Clay dive headfirst into the beautiful chaos of St. Patrick’s Day season, anchored by Bill’s now-legendary parade party that somehow gets bigger, stranger, and more elaborately decorated every year. We’re talking two freshly purchased Turkish rugs for reasons no one can fully explain, a borderline catering operation of subs, chips, fruit trays, and booze, and a house full of revelers cycling in and out like it’s Wrigley Field on Opening Day. Paddy, naturally, appoints himself the unofficial chaperone of the madness, stepping into his newest alter ego: Sober Worried Guy. When one partygoer goes from “having a great time” to “uhhh… is she okay?” Paddy finds himself walking the tightrope between being a decent human being and looking like the weirdest guy at the party. What follows is a series of awkward check-ins, second guesses, and a lingering question that haunts him the rest of the show: did he help, or did he just become a story she tells later? From there, the gang spirals into classic Hooley territory with stories of post-parade street scenes, long-day drinkers hitting the wall, and the general realization that St. Patrick’s Day hits a little different when you’re not 25 anymore.
