On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we tackled the many shades of conflict and how important it is to maintain self-control at those times. It is much easier said than done. So we turned to a friend of this program who is an expert in relational dynamics combined with the application of scripture to get some guidance on the keys to regulating our emotions during these volatile times to both honor the Lord and find real solutions to the issues we face. One of our favorite bible teachers joined us this week as we dove deep into the issue of prayer, specifically regarding praying in the name of Jesus. He cleared away the confusion over this practice and explained why is not a “magical” statement that gets God to do what we want. He also addressed whether or not God ever says “NO” our prayer requests, what His reasons might be and how we should prepare our heart to respond to whatever His answer is. In all of human history only one person and one question has ever really mattered: Why Jesus? Eternal destinations for each and every one of us depend on how we answer that question. We turned to another friend of the program and a highly respected evangelist, author and teacher who daily hits the streets to share the hope of the gospel with others, to help us understand how to do the same and get people to realize the eternal significance of Jesus and how and why their eternal future is tied up with their answer to the question: Why Jesus? Are we knowingly or unknowingly shirking an important responsibility that God gave through the Abrahamic Covenant? Our guest says that believers were meant to go out an influence the world at large with God’s precepts and values. He also spoke about the importance of intercession as we go out to represent Christ and His kingdom in an increasingly hostile world. Once again, we invite you to join our favorite husband and wife team as they teach us how to expose the rhetoric and misinformation that is easily available in the marketplace of ideas today, by scrutinizing it under the white-hot light of God’s truth.
