House Of Hoosier: An Indiana Basketball Podcast

Just like the Brad Stevens scuttlebutt, Indiana's winning streak short was fun but short-lived. To start, Austin and Ian celebrate Indiana denying Tom Izzo of the Big Ten wins record and the reasons the Hoosiers fell short UCLA. Then, the guys react to Mick Cronin's postgame comments, whether or not he's someone who could fill the coaching void, the non-conference matchup against Marquette, and who on the current roster we'd want to see on this team next year with the new coaching staff.

While Indiana played two games last week, they quickly became footnotes when the breaking news broke that Mike Woodson would step aside at the end of the season. Ian Plaskoff and Austin Platt discuss why the decision came now, the team's performance against Dusty May's Michigan Wolverines, how the program and fans will treat the rest of the season, our qualifications for the next coach, and some early candidates.

It's deja vu...39+ minutes of intense Indiana Basketball derailed by boneheaded decisions by players and the coaching staff. Ian Plaskoff and Austin Platt break it all down in a game that not many gave Indiana a shot to win against its biggest rival. From the seniors leaving it all on the line to Oumar Ballo lashing out against Myles Rice and why Indiana didn't use a timeout, the guys put Indiana under the microscope after missing out on a season-defining win.

Head-scratching, puzzling, and frustrating are all accurate ways to describe Indiana's collapse against Maryland at Assembly Hall. Ian and Austin instantly react to the Terrapins snatching victory from the jaws of defeat amidst one of Indiana's best efforts all season. From Anthony Leal and Mackenzie Mgbako's performances to the intensity and ability to stay in the heavyweight fight, the guys try and balance the positives from the disaster that was the final 30ish seconds and what it means with Indiana facing a brutal six-game stretch.

A mixed bag of road results leaves Indiana on the outside looking in of the NCAA Tournament field. Austin and Ian look at what worked against the Buckeyes in the OT win last week and the reasons for Indiana falling apart again on the road, this time against Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena. From the defensive breakdowns to the two-big lineup, the guys pick apart everything from the fifth-straight loss to the 'Cats.

An embarrassing home loss, an opponent setting a scoring record, a player getting ejected, and boos everywhere - all in a day's work. After Indiana's second straight loss by 25 points, Ian and Austin lament the lack of self-control, effort, leadership, and selflessness and that the Indiana Basketball program has failed to meet expectations in the past few seasons. From NIL to the transfer portal to the recruiting pitch, the pair identify what needs to change and our confidence for it to do so before it's too late for Mike Woodson.

Oumar Ballo notches 25 points and 13 rebounds in a huge victory against Penn State! Austin & Ian are elated to record another episode after a big Hoosier road W against a quality opponent. From the effort levels to the new play style, the guys look at the recent patterns with this team, Mackenzie Mgbako's incredible second-half surge, and what this does to our thinking about this team from now on, with a home game against USC on the horizon.

Great start to 2025! Ian and Austin analyze Indiana's 10-point win over Rutgers and the team's incredible shooting night from behind the arc to offset Ace Bailey's 39-point performance. The guys touch on how the injury to Malik Reneau shakes this up and potentially changes the style of basketball the team plays, Oumar Ballo's dominant performance down low, Anthony Leal's play off the bench, and how if it changes our outlook on the team in conference play. The show is rounded out with a preview of Sunday's clash with Penn State at the Palestra.
