    Connected for the Double!
     
    Holy Spirit wants to talk to us about being connected for the double!
     
    Connect
    To bring together or into contact so that a real link is established.
    To join together so as to provide access and communication
    To link to a power or water supply
    Synonyms - attach, join, fasten, fix, affix, couple, link, secure, hitch, stick, adhere
     
    Example:  Fan
    Turned on but not connected?
    Where does the power come from?
    Do you plug directly into the power company?
    What happens to the fan if you gradually move it further away from its connection?
    How important is connection?
     
    Holy Spirit wants to shine His light of revelation on connection.  Today you are Elisha. Pay attention to the relationship between Elisha and Elijah.  
     
    2 Kings 2:1-
     
    What are some things you noticed about their relationship?  ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
     
    2 Kings 2:8-9
     
    What did Elisha ask for?  _______________________________________________________
     
    2 Kings 2:10
     
    What did Elijah say about what Elisha asked for?
    So he said, “You have asked a _______________________  ____________________
     
    Why was this a hard thing?
    What was required in order to receive the double portion?
    Nevertheless, if you ___________________  ___________________ when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”
     
    So was seeing Elijah a hard thing?
    What does it take to keep someone or something in your view?
     
    2 Kings 2:11-14
     
    Elisha saw it and now the double portion was available to him.
    Elisha met all the requirements to receive the double portion.
    Our last time together we learned that in scripture the word receive doesn’t mean to accept but instead to take.  
    Elisha took up the mantle of Elijah!
    And not only did he take up the mantle but he put the mantle into use!
     
    So what is the significance of the double for us today?
     
    Double
    Consisting of two equal, identical, or similar parts of things
    Having some essential part of feature twice, in particular
    Twice as much or as many.
     
    Today I am celebrating my 55th birthday!
    Holy Spirit began to deal with my heart about the spiritual significance.
    The Tabernacle was measured in multiples of 5 (Exodus 25-27)
    God changed Abram’s name to Abraham by adding the letter/number 5 to his name
    He also added the same letter/number to change Sarai to Sarah
    Daniel proclaimed the 5th Kingdom to be an Everlasting Kingdom (Daniel 2:37-44)
    The number 5 in the Bible symbolizes God’s grace, goodness and favor toward humans and is mentioned 318 times in scripture.
    Under the new covenant grace is also an endowment of power.
    Grace is the ability of God to do.
     
    Holy Spirit let me know today that I have stepped into a double grace!  
    Why is that significant for us as a local body of believers?  
    Because what comes on the head comes on the body!  
     
    Psalm 133
     
    THERE IS A COMMANDED BLESSING WHEN YOU ARE CONNECTED TO WHERE THE OIL IS RUNNING DOWN!  
    THERE’S A SPIRIT THAT’S TRYING TO RISE UP WITHIN THE HOUSE TO COME AGAINST THE MANTLE THAT’S COME UPON THE HOUSE!
    DISCONNECTION WILL KEEP YOU FROM THE DOUBLE!
    YOU MUST BE RIGHTLY CONNECTED TO TAKE UP THE MANTLE!
    TODAY IF YOU ARE RIGHTLY CONNECTED YOU CAN RECEIVE THE DOUBLE!
    IF YOU ARE NOT RIGHTLY CONNECTED REPENT AND RECONNECT!
     
     
    Today is not just about a birthday but about a body of believers taking up the double!
