    Separation for Elevation
     
    We are called to a higher level!
     
    Anytime you proceed to a new place there will be things that try to prevent you from reaching that place.
    You must leave the lower level to go to the higher level
    Lower is not necessarily bad but higher is the place God is calling you.
     
    Example:  appointment on the 2nd floor
    You’re in the lobby on the first floor.  
    How will you get to what God has for you on the 2nd floor?
    In order to get to the 2nd floor you must separate yourself from the first floor.
    There’s a means to take you there but if you don’t take it you’ll have to reschedule
    You can even make a decision to get there but if you don’t take the means to get there you’ll still have to reschedule.
    Going to levels is not easy!  It takes discipline!
    Before you can even take a step you have to take one in your thought life.
     
    Holy Spirit said:  MANY WANT TO GO TO THE 2ND FLOOR BUT THEY STILL HAVE A FIRST FLOOR MENTALITY!
     
    Separation is necessary!
    Example:  Egg
    Separate the yolk from the white of the egg.
    Let’s talk about this process of separation
     
    What did you learn from this process?   ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
     
    The Word is the shell that is to be used to separate the old from the new!
    There are some things in life where you can’t use a scrambled egg!
    In order to go to the higher level you must be able to separate!
     
    Since separation is important let’s read the story of Abram and Lot.  Pay close attention to how Abram handles the separation from Lot. Listen to what Holy Spirit says to you.  Make notes for yourself. Put yourself in the Word. Today you are Abram!

    Defy Intimidation!


     


    We are called to a higher level!


     


    • There’s always something that tries to keep you out of the place you’re supposed to be

  • It will use every tactic to tell you that you don’t belong there, that you don’t qualify, that you’re not worthy, that you’re not smart enough and the list goes on and on.

  • It will say anything and everything to persuade you to get in agreement with it.

  • Its goal is to talk to you until you surrender and believe what it says.  

  • It wants you to see it as a giant.  It wants you to think of it as a giant.  It wants you to talk about it as if it is a giant.

    What is its strategy?


    • intimidation

     


    Intimidation


    • The action of intimidating someone, or the state of being intimidated

     


    Intimidate


    • To make timid or frightened; to scare, especially to compel or deter by or as if by threats

  • To discourage, restrain, or silence illegally

  • Unlawful act of intentionally coercing or frightening someone to do (or not to do)

    •  


    Intimidation comes to keep you from walking through the open doors


    • To keep you from the higher levels

  • To keep you from the place of success

  • To keep you from the position of wealth

  • To keep you from walking in everything God says is yours

    •  


    INTIMIDATION COMES TO KEEP YOU WHERE YOU ARE AND TO KEEP YOU FROM WHERE YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE.


     


    INTIMIDATION IS ALWAYS AN INDICATION TO MOVE FORWARD!


     


    Intimidation works along with the spirit of pride.  It wants you to look at yourself instead of God


     


    • I’m not good enough

    • I don’t know enough

    • I don’t have enough

     


    • The trick is to get you to compare your I list to the so called giant.

  • When this so called giant comes do you look at your I list or do you remember that you are a child of the great I AM, the God who is MORE THAN ENOUGH?

    • Holy Spirit told us about His reason for us to be blessed.  

  • He also warned us about our hearts.

  • It was a time to examine our motives.

  • We sensed a sacred holy moment in this house.

  • Holy Spirit performed surgery

    •  


    So Holy Spirit is calling us higher and told us why and we have prepared our hearts.


     


    So what's next?  Hear what Holy Spirit said:


     


    • IF YOU'RE EVER GOING TO DO ANYTHING YOU MUST DEFY THE WHAT IF’S!

     


     


    Defy


    • Openly resist or refuse to obey

     


     


    • AS SOON AS YOU HAVE SOMETHING IN YOUR HEART THE SPIRIT OF WHAT IF COMES TO CAUSE YOU TO QUESTION WHETHER YOU CAN OR NOT!

     


     


     


    • IT COMES TO PARALYZE YOU, TO CAUSE PROCRASTINATION

     


     


     


    • IT COMES WITH THE SPIRIT OF FEAR. THEY LIKE TO TRAVEL AS TWINS

     


     


     


    • YOU MUST DEFY THE WHAT IF’S

     


     


    2 Kings 7:1-8


     


    If you allow the what if’s to paralyze you, you will never find out the results.


     


    You will never get to your destination


     


    Example:  holding pattern


     


    Thinking about the what if’s is a waste of time.  It is a trick to delay you. It is a trick to deter you.


    You must develop a defiance against the WHAT IF’S


     


    Defiance


    • Open resistance, bold disobedience

     


    Example:  driving up the mountains
