  • Why High? - Pastors William & Donna Porter - May 6, 2018
Pastors William & Donna teach us about going to a higher level in many different areas!

    Why High?

Over the past few months Holy Spirit’s been talking to us about going to a higher level in many different areas.
    A higher level of faith
    A higher level of glory
    A higher level of thinking
    A higher level of excellence
    A higher level of worship

It is not like we just want to be in a high place!
This is not our own idea
This is our act of obedience to the assignment given
    This is a divine assignment!
We have orders from Headquarters and we will obey!
We are called to operate at high levels.

Holy Spirit said:  HE IS BECKONING US TO A HIGHER LEVEL IN EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES!

    Beckon
Make a gesture with the hand, arm, or head to encourage someone to come nearer or follow

Holy Spirit is waving to us to come into this place of the higher!
With this, comes a higher level of accountability!
God is looking for people He can trust with the higher!
People have a tendency to start tripping when they go higher.

    Deuteronomy 8
Before we start this chapter Holy Spirit has some instructions for us:
This chapter is full of warnings.
Holy Spirit wants us to pay attention to the BE CAREFUL!
    Pay attention to the BEWARE!
    Pay attention to the WHYS!
Holy Spirit is going to teach us the WHY for the low level experience and the WHY for the high level experience.

    Let’s look at verse 1.
You must be careful to observe the word.  Why?
    That you may _________________ and _____________________ and _____  _____ and _____________________ the land……….

    Let’s look at verse 2
Remember the Lord led you in the wilderness.  Why?
To __________________you and ________________ you, to know what was in your _____________________ whether you would __________________ His commandments or not.

    Deuteronomy 8:3-20
Pay attention to how many times Holy Spirit mentions the HEART.

    Let’s look at verse 18
Remember it is He who gives you power to get wealth.  Why?
    That He may ________________________ His _______________________ which…..
    Deuteronomy 9:1-6

WHERE WE GO AND WHY WE GO HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THE HEART!

HOW YOUR HEART IS IN THE LOW LEVEL EXPERIENCE DETERMINES WHETHER OR NOT YOU CAN ENCOUNTER THE HIGH LEVEL EXPERIENCE.

    Genesis 22:1-19

    Picture 1
    Picture 2

YOUR ABILITY TO GIVE IT AWAY DETERMINES YOUR ABILITY TO RECEIVE MORE!

IF YOU CAN’T GIVE IT AWAY THEN YOU CAN’T KEEP IT!

YOU WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE THE HIGHER UNTIL YOUR HEART IS TESTED IN THE LOWER

THIS IS ABOUT MOTIVES!  THIS IS ABOUT ATTITUDES!  THIS IS ABOUT YOUR HEART!

IT’S TIME FOR A CHECK UP!

IT’S TIME FOR AN EXAMINATION OF THE HEART!

IS YOUR HEART READY FOR THE HIGHER?
