Those who were far from God, have been brought near. All people are invited to believe in the promises of God and partake of the blessings. Jesus has taken us out of the kingdom of darkness and placed us into the kingdom of light, but what does that actually mean in reality? Paul wanted them and us to understand. He is reaching out to people who were looking for answers. His message was a message of hope and redemption. To all who are in darkness, come. Come into the light and knowledge of the Lord by receiving His Spirit. Come understand who you are, where you came from, and where you are going. Come into the kingdom of God.
