Ashira Siegel Foxes art practice involves experimenting with various combinations of artistic methods and mediums in an effort to create unconventional paintings, unique variant prints and art objects that explore color, texture, depth and dimension. Her work over the years has included (and often combined) sculpturally sewn and collaged hand dyed papers, plaster castings, layered resin, glass kiln work, ceramics, photography, and many many different ways of painting and printing. 

Michael Rawls is a local Singer-Songwriter and Piano/Guitar Instructor. He got his start teaching and performing while living down in Texas. In 2019 he made the move to the Chicago area

with his wife for various reasons, and did so with a lot of uncertainty. Michael would have to find a way to rebuild his business in a new city and work his way into the local music

scene. Just over a year later Michael is booked solid with students and performing like a mad man! Along with teaching and performing, he has been putting in studio time, and is anticipating his first official release in 2021.

This week on How Do Artists, we will chat with Director & Cinematographer, Justin McAleece, who has received several awards for his work on several major film projects. Justin is also the director, writer, producer, and editor of his own feature film comedy, "Brick Madness," in which case we will discuss his 11-year journey to getting his film released. Our topic for discussion will be How Do Artists Persevere?
