Good story with a bit graphic on the rape scenes!

V ery good second world war story however I did find that the rape scenes were described too graphically for me. That is probably a personal thing though. Well-read and tied up nicely at the end.

Five Stars

This is a really engaging and interesting book, with some good suspense. I also think that the audio book is excellent - maybe even better than the written version - the narrator is great!

Title: Saving Sarah

Author: Kathleen Hope

Narrator: Theresa Stephens

Format: Unabridged

Length: 5 hrs and 19 mins

Language: English

Release date: 06-23-17

Publisher: Kathleen Hope

Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Publisher's Summary:

Sarah wandered from bed to bed, checking on the few patients at the Hedley Clinic. It was such a welcome contrast from when she'd arrived and established the makeshift hospital off the Rio Negro. The treatment area had overflowed with patients from the first day, all in desperate need of care. Malaria, Yellow Fever, Cholera, Typhoid fever, and uncontrolled diabetes had run rampant throughout the area. But thanks to antimalarial drugs, vaccinations, antibiotics, and rehydration solutions, the number of patients had dwindled dramatically. Most days brought patients with ear infections, high blood pressure, asthma attacks, and even the occasional prenatal checkup. Still, there was a relatively regular flow of emergency patients suffering injuries from farming accidents and even alligator bites. The enormous black caimans were especially troublesome, particularly during the wet seasons when they ventured into the flooded savannas of the Amazon basin.

Though there was so much more she wished she could do, never a day went by when she didn't feel she made an...

Simple Enjoyment

Take one hunky military dude, send him and his team of SEALs into the jungle to retrieve one beautiful, dedicated, and very stubborn lady doctor who does NOT want to be retrieved, and there's bound to be a few sparks. (Which is why you purchase romance novels in the first place, right?)

Toss in some nasty drug cartel thugs who want said lady doctor dead, and the danger level is destined to rise to a level beyond the unexpected attraction between the doctor and the hunky soldier. (Well, unexpected to THEM maybe, but WE all know differently... I mean, come on... it IS a romance.)

If you read this book for sheer entertainment, you won't be disappointed. If you're a nitpicker who gets apoplectic over unedited errors and minor lapses in logic, you might get annoyed at times. I would have liked to see the ending to have extended into their return back to the states, because after using so much ink detailing the father-daughter relationship, the lack of resolution was a bit disappointing. But hey! There's a hunky military dude in the book... and a gorgeous doctor. Just relax and enjoy it.

Three and a half stars, rounded up to four.

Kathleen Hope Saving Sarah

Another well written romance story by Kathleen Hope.Navy seal lieutenant Michael Cade is sent into the Amazon jungle to retrieve a Dr Sarah Woodward the admirals daughter and return her to the US.Michael and his men find her makeshift hospital and thinking their mission is almost over by getting Dr Woodward and returning to the extraction point and heading home. Now that would be easy except not the way it happen to work A drug cartel a traitor nurse and a dead brother of the cartel plus a stubborn Dr equals a recommend read you won't be disappointed with

I really liked this book a lot. The writing is done quite well, great story, great characters, great plot twists and just a little bit of hotness. BUT... I gave it a mediocre rating ,although leaning more to 3.5, because of the ending. It just seemed like it ended abruptly, like the deadline was there and okay gotta end it. No follow through with lingering characters or even the plot line itself. No epilogue or finality to the story itself. Just flat, no excitement to the HE A.

Woman with no jungle skills decided to hike Angel Falls, and fell in love with her reluctant guide there for his own reasons

Falling in Angel Falls is about a girl finding herself, but roughly 60% of the book it turned into secret baby/ love interrupted story, so it is as if the original story and its sequel were bundled into a single book.

Alexa Dayne is the family black sheep, who chose hair salon as her career instead of the family bakery business. And she'd finally made it, and with a comfortable nest egg, she decided on an adventure... a hike to Angel Falls, Venezuela. She even paid a guide that's supposed to be reputable. What she got instead (after her guide's a no show) was Ben Marx, Steel Force Adventures owner. Ben is trying to escape the bad memories of losing so many friends in the Middle East and achieving a dream. The long-legged beauty dogging him was NOT in his plans. The girl has ZERO jungle skills, just a lot of attitude, and Ben can't bear to see her kill herself trying. So he agreed to take her... but he's not going for the bottom... He's going for the TOP of the falls. And on the way... they fell in love, but agreed that it's a no-strings affair... And at the end, they went their separate ways. Five months later, he wandered into town, visiting his mother, and found Alexa... VERY pregnant...

The character arcs in the first half was excellent, the second half, a bit less so. The interrupt in the middle really made me feel as if the author decided to make the book longer by tacking on a separate story, albeit with the same characters as there is a bit of unfinished business, i.e. instead of Happy-For-Now, she'll give them the Happily-Ever-After, but only after the author put the characters through another emotional wringer.

Great novella! Wonderful read!

Oh Eve!

This is a short story and should be read after Taming Evangeline.

I really like C.L. Matthews writing style. She gets you to feel for her characters and feel like you're there with them. I can't wait to see what she releases next.

An Emotional Love Story

Love this author and her stories. This book is a short story and should only be read after Taming Evangeline. It will you have you emotional and screaming no not again but give Gideon the ending he needed and have you ready to see what is in store next for Eve.

I love the suspense of all the characters and how you want to see them all get the love they deserve.

Will Eve be able to come back from the happy life she lost guess we will wait and see.

A Very Blackwell Christmas

I read out of order, but will now read first book. Enjoyed the happy ever after until the epilogue. Mean, I'm crushed. But that's what a good author does, makes you feel. Good or bad, sad!

4 stars because I'm need to start from the beginning.

Happy endings

I received this book for free and voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Happy endings...after reading the first bookTaming Evangeline all I wanted to see was a happy ending for these two characters, they really do deserve it. I love this book! Very touching and emotional!

Please don't read this book if you haven't read Taming Evangeline as there are spoilers.

Dear Lord....

This Author talked me off the cliff in an awesome follow-up to Taming Evangeline, then threw in a twist I NEVER saw coming...believe me you won't either! Anxiously awaiting the next book and following this Author in what assuredly is destined to be an amazing writing career.
