Writing style left me feeling confused and frustrated.

I found this book confusing. William, both the H and the father have the same name. Then we have a younger brother ( by 13 months) named Walden that is certifiably nuts with a list of anti-psychotic drugs that the author kindly lists for the reader. The very disturbed brother owns a Kink club called 'The Cathedral' in the heart of New Orleans.

The story opens with the Father, wealthy and still handsome, telling the younger William to handle the arrival of fresh, young Allie Darling to the city of New Orleans and to his care and keeping during the tenure of her internship. Allie is the 21 year old daughter of the older William's very ex girlfriend from his younger days. I found this concept very hard to conceive. Why would this young girl let this older ex of her now deceased Mother tempt her into trusting him enough to stay in his home.

The story is set up to be all kinds of kinky and sexy. I just found it frustrating and implausible. I most cases, I can suspend belief for a well written tale. But this just did not come up to scratch for me. The meeting of Walden just totally lost me. I found the attempts of the author to show a disassociated and disorganized state of mind very awkward . Plus the H, William's thoughts were not consistent to the actions portrayed in the opening chapters.

The story and the writing did not flow well for me. I found long sentences with too much 'telling' and not enough 'showing'. I did not finish this book.

Hot and heavy

Just imagine meeting the perfect guy or girl. Going out of your way to be civil when all you want to do is tear off their clothes. This book is about love at first sight. He sees the perfect Angel.She the perfect man but life throws a curve ball .a dysfunctional family

Pleasure delayed ..not denied

This was a surprisingly good read. I especially loved the details about New Orleans historic districts. The hot and steamy romance went from zero to porn was nice. Somewhat like a "50 shades". Yet there is a level of intrigue that is promised with the mental issues of the brothers.

Cute Story of Misguided Romance!

I liked the stubborn South Carolina miss Rainey, her passion, her gumption, and her mistaken quest to make a purely sexual and destructive relationship into a committed one. I enjoyed the manner in which the author weaves a better man into the story. More raunchy than Id prefer. The performance was excellent.

Unexpected Destiny!!

Savannah Douglas went through a traumatic ordeal at the hands of her uncle in her childhood.....she never really got to deal with it like talk to a psychologist. She grew up getting everything she ever wanted and never cared about how she got things or who she'd hurt in the process.

Billy Jackson has always been a bad boy along with his friends Travis Nolan and Corey....It seemed like he was heading nowhere until he found out he was going to be a father and his priorities changed. After an altercation with one of his friends Travis Nolan, Billy realized he had to make some changes in his life.

Billy wanted Savannah to marry him because he had always loved her, he went out of his way to make sure that Savannah knew that no matter how much she pushed him away, he wasn't giving up on their child nor her. Together they brought their beautiful baby girl into the world outside her parents' house.

Despite all her protesting, Savannah found herself falling in love with Billy....the former even reconnected with her friend Lauren West and made new friends in the process. After cleaning up their acts and finally being the family they always wanted to be, Billy and Savannah got an unwanted visit from Billy's father looking to extort more money from them. They handled the situation with maturity.

Billy finally got the girl of his dreams and Savannah found her prince charming......they got their happily every after.

A better entry, same flaws

I've read all West Series books so far, and with Savannah's story I had the same feeling I did with Missy's Moment and Roping Ryan - the characters are more developed, the story has a more worked on plot and it's not just a couple getting back together, and Savannah is getting her redemption.

However, mistaking "your" for "you're", "we'll" for "will", omitting quotation marks or adding them when they don't belong, having different lines of dialogue in the same paragraph making the reader unable to keep up with who's speaking... Jill, pretty please, edit these books so that the next reader can have a better experience with them than I did.

By now I know that the grammar and spelling issues bug me so much I won't get into another series after I'm done with this one, and that disappoints me because I like Jill's overall writing style. However, I won't be spending any money on books that have clear mistakes that could be avoided if someone actually gave them a read.

Three and a half stars, only because of Savannah. Although (spoiler alert) at one point she says she wants to go to work and do something with her life, and Billy says he'd rather she stay at home and breed a few more kids.

Sweet and Sassy

I loved getting to hear all about sassy Eve's journey to love. Hearing her take charge and not back down just because she is female is awesome. Listening to Eve and Adam be given life (or a voice) by Kat was awesome. She did a wonderful job and made the story even more enjoyable.

Cozy Romantic Christmas Read

Eve McIntyre & Adam Winters are two broken souls.

I liked this book better than book one. Adams character is my favorite & my heart broke for him. I liked that the supporting characters crossover from the first book. Romans character is strong & an asset to the story. A sweet & sexy spicy quick read with a bit of an edge. A perfect holiday read with plot twists to keep you captivated.

Might have had potential but the narrator was an over actor with the sexual scenes especially. She sounded like an ad for a terrible phone sex operator. I couldn't really get into her character for her dumb actions. She hates him she loves him dunce repeat. Annoying The general story of two people working out there demons from feeling abandoned and a soldier feeling survival guilt had potential. I wouldn't bother less you like overacting!

Melanie James is a new author for me. This audible book is Flipping Fantastic!

Oh My Gosh!! Love this story... It has it all! Mystery, Suspense, Action, Love, Romance, Thrilling twisted turns, and steaming Hot SEX!!

This is my first Melanie James experience, it was wonderful, and it most definitely will not be my last. Melanie James is an Amazing Author and her worlds are on fire. Well done, Miss James.

I Love the way this story flows... Consistently and fast paced. The world is one of coming of age and self-discovery with a multilayered series of twisted and unexpected events that will keep you riveted to your seat.

The intimacy between the protagonist and Jake is HOT DAMN!!! The scenes are depicted beautifully. Just laying back and listening to them with my eyes closed brought them in loud and clear. Well developed characters, including their back stories.

The narrator did an awesome job of bringing the characters to life. Crisp and clear. I am loving audio books now. I seriously doubt that I could keep them straight in my head. Good Job, Bailey.

My Recommendation is for all 18+ readers out there who enjoy believable, steamy characters and scorching hot scenes.

Suspenseful with romance

What did you love best about A Deadly Obsession?

An enjoyable story with a solid plot, some good characters, nicely described action sequences, good dialogue, and some intense love/sex scenes.

This a story about Jake and Jenny. Jake wants Jenny but his morals and concern for his friendship causes him to hold back. Jenny is a quiet young lady who has low self worth but from the writer's description, is a darn fine hottie. There are interesting back characters including family members and friends.

The only flaw to this book: Not enough time or description is spent on the antagonist of this story, or did I miss something?

To sum this all up: Another fine work of literary art by Melanie James.

Nick is some trouble I'd like to get into!!!

A sweet, sexy, second chance romance! Willow and Nick are great together! They spent a steamy hot, passionate summer together when they were younger, but Nick ends up breaking her heart saying it's not going to work between them and leaves. 6 years later, Nick is back and willing to do anything to get Willow back including blackmail! Willow is guarded and wants nothing to do with Nick after he broke her heart but for her to get her business up and running, she has to make a deal with Nick in order to lease the space he owns. He doesn't play fair and their attitudes clash together igniting sparks even hotter then before but will Nick have what it takes to win Willow's heart?

A Little Blackmail Never Hurt Anyone

Game for Trouble is the perfect title for Willow and Nicks book because when they reconnect after Nick left her when they were younger, he causes nothing but distress for her by blackmailing himself back into her life and forcing her to go on 8 dates with him in order to get the building that she needs for her burgeoning business. But the true concern in their relationship is that both Willow and Nick feel too much for each other and the reasons why Nick left all those years ago is something that might destroy any progress he makes with her, if she ever does truly allow him back into her life and her bed.

I cant blame Willow for her fears and frustrations at the game she thinks Nicks playing with her. Her feelings for him are intense and the hurt she felt after he broke her heart is not something she can easily get past.

Forcing myself to continue listening

Not finished listening, may switch to reading because I am not enjoying the Narrator.

The $1.95 is overpaying for this.

Really Nice

This is a very pleasant uplifting book about two people wanting to love, but afraid to take the risk. Charlotte is a professor with a best selling book who makes a deal with billionaire businessman Daniel Moretti in order to get back the farm her mother grew up on. Charlotte's mother left her and her father and brother when she was eight years older and was killed six months later. Thus the sole connection she has with her is the farm and some antique furniture.

Daniel Moretti is his mother's child from her first marriage; the one she ignores as if it had never happened. If he weren't a billionaire with connections in high places she would have forgotten he existed.

Unlike many books which feature romance this one doesn't go on and on describing emotions in such detail the fast forward button becomes attached to your finger. When the inevitable road block occurs in the relationship it isn't some ridiculous lack of communication issue getting blown totally out of proportion. It is instead an understandable overreaction based on personal history that is easily understandable.

Given the bargain price, this one is a great buy.

Sorry, I prefer other Narrater.

Too much tension in her voice made me uncomfortable.Little too high voice,little too hash excortication sounds, little too fast speed....All those points tested my patience, but I think main point is too much tension in her voice .I would like to listen once she relife her tension from her way of living,so I guess even same high voice,hashness and fast speed can be her charm.
