"Those Batty Bats of Bainesville" was written by Linda Waters who was one of my roommates at Moravian College. I am so glad she let me know of her new found talent. I loved this cute tail of two bats trying to find a new home. Children will love it as they imagine how animals, of any kind, would go about trying to find a new place to live just as their parents might do if they were looking for a new home. I have purchased all three of Linda's books and this Christmas (2014) all 4 of my great grandchildren received them as gifts. Linda is an inspired writer who I hope will continue to write just as great children's books. I'll buy them.

I loved this book

I loved this book.....It was a perfect read for our son...A very fitting subject for our time. Kudos to the author.

Every teacher in the junior classes should have this book in their library

I read this book to a group of five and six year old children. The group enjoyed the story and it kept their attention for the duration which, at 42 pages long, is quite a feat. Their only criticism was of the illustration of the peach pit itself. They thought that it didn't really look like one.

The message in the book was put across in a simple and thought provoking way. The children learned a few new words and they took on board the idea of perseverance, forgiveness and being a good friend to one another. They were shocked at the unkind things the apple and watermelon seeds said to little peach pit at the beginning of the story. They felt sorry for it but as it grew and thrived the they began to feel sorry for the other fruit trees who didn't persevere.

The story of the Little Peach Pit has stayed with the children, days even weeks, after listening to it. Forgiveness and kindness are general themes that pop up in everyday conversation and interactions with children. Some of the group who listened to the story still refer back to the Little Peach Pit as an example.

The Little Peach Pit is a story that can be revisited often. It deals with themes that children need to discuss and be reminded of frequently; kindness, forgiveness, friendship and perseverance.

Teachers looking for a story during anti bullying week or as an extra resource will find this book very useful. In addition it has a linking website with lesson plans, activities and printable resources to enable the teacher and children to get the most out of this book and to enrich their learning experience.

Another thing that teachers will like are the illustrations. They clearly show the changing seasons and the life cycle of the seed/tree.

This is a wonderful story which makes me smile at the same time as giving me hope for the future of education. The main character, Little Peach Pit, is taken on an adventure learning lessons about the environment, teamwork, encouraging others, perseverance, and other aspects of character. There is a sense of overcoming some gentle struggles, which gives the story its own energy. The artwork is helpful for illustrating the story, and isn't too slick or overly idealized. I hope the greatest of this story gets out. It's timeless.

In the beginning Little Peach Pit's life is "the pits". But with perseverance, things turn out peachy. Grace Nava has crafted a fable that will help children push their way through hard times.

Cute story and illustrations, but italic font with a shawdow is hard to see and read

This is a short (12 pages) children's books. Every page is illustrated by using photos with "illustration" Photoshop-type effect to make photos look more like pictures you would see in a children's book. If you are planning to buy a kitten for your child this is a nice book to get!

The only issue I had with the book is the use of italic fonts for the rhymes. To make the italic font even harder to read than normal each character has a shallow around it and I found them hard on the eyes and difficult to read. Note that the "look inside" page does not show the problem I see on my Kindle, maybe the printed version does not have this font issue.

This is such a sweet poetic story. It is the perfect length to read to a curious child. I love how the innocence of the little girl, and the playful nature of the cat shine through in all the illustrations. Well Done.
