A must for a school libraries

The is a fabulous book that was written by a Pre-k teacher who lived in African and who has experienced the culture. It is a book that should be in classrooms to be shared with children of all ages.

It is so important to include information about other cultures and countries in the books we read to our children. This is a great addition to classroom and home libraries!

For the Selfish person in me

I have given this book to all of my nieces and nephews since I first heard about it. I somehow missed this when I was growing up, but as an adult, Dad told me the story but he couldn't remember the name or the author. Shortly after his passing, I found a copy at a book sale benefiting a library and bought the book in his honor. I never read it without tears of thankfulness streaming down my face. I tear up just talking about this book. I would recommend this to any parent who wants to teach their children the joy of sharing and to any adult who needs to learn about love and sacrifice.

Excellent story of God's mercy through our Lord Jesus Christ

I first read this version of the Selfish Giant in the Readers Digest magazine many years ago. For the longest time I could not remember the name of the story but I finally found the name using the Internet. I love the story because it shows God's mercy through our Lord Jesus Christ. I'm happy to find this version and will always treasure it. I highly recommend the story.

Music Doesn't Match

The story is, of course, wonderful. However, the music fell short of wonderful. I was comparing it with Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, and it did nothing to enhance the story. For one thing, the musical interludes were way too long. The story and music were just not a great match.

This is one of my favorite Oscar Wilde fairy tales, written as much for adults as it is for children. The art work is gentle and inviting and the tale is enchanting and touching. A "must have" tale for the reader who values the power and resilience of the human experience!

Unexpected

When I was looking to read my 5-year-old a story about selfishness/gratitude, I found this recommendation online. I downloaded it knowing nothing about it. There was, for me, an unexpected twist at the end. I'd say that the religious would give it a 5-star rating and really should consider purchasing, whereas atheists should consider not purchasing.

Not about Politics! This is a Thoughtful and delightful children's book.

OK, the Amazon product description is clearly not for this book. This is a children's book with clever rhymes and some really nice art work. My son was six when I first read him the manuscript, and even without the artwork he was completely absorbed. Now it's finally been published and I look forward to getting my hard cover.

Fun read with a sprinkle of life lessons

I gave this book 5 stars because my husband and I love reading it to our 2-1/2 year old! The book's fun flow is enhanced by colorful language, vocabulary variety, cultural education, and a simple life lesson that even a camel has to learn! I hope author Nicole Ford plans to continue with Mooshi the Camel's journies in future books. We can't wait to see where he goes! I would recommend this book for children 2.5 years through early elementary shool.
