3 QUESTIONS to MATHIAS ACHE & MULE:
Q: Talking about your mix: how did you guys meet the bass and from which musicial directions did you both come from?
A: We started to collect vinyls in two different ways. Mathias came from BritPop and House to Electronic music and later to Minimal & Techno. It was a birthday party from a friend and the DJ played very stupid stuff. Mathias thought „I will try it better!“ and bought the first vinyls and turntables. On the other side muLe was responsible for all school parties with all kinds of music. Especially Dance, Trance, House, Electronica and later Techno. 2006 we met each other at an illegal Open Air rave where we were booked as DJs separated from each other. Later we played the closing together b2b because the other DJs were too drunk. The story began. Later we collected Moon Harbour Records (the typical Leipzig-House style) and afterwards we met you (Marc DePulse). A crazy story, because we had some records from you before.
Q: You´re heroes of Leipzigs underground scene for years by DJing and promoting. What do you think is the difference to the scene in Berlin or other citys?
A: Well, we think the difference between Berlin and Leipzig is the familiar stuff. Leipzig is not Berlin, and that's good as it is! Leipzig is smaller, more green, more familiar and little bit more smart. When you go to the clubs or pubs you always have your friends in somewhere. In Berlin it´s a little more anonymous. Of course both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Q: What future Ache & muLe projects are on the way?
A: In the last four years we released some vinyls and MP3s. It was a project with some very good results. But we developed our music - back to the roots with more quality. That's why we want to focus more on the DJing currently, where it all began. That´s a question of time to gather impressions. Because music, DJing and producing is more or less a hobby and a big love for us. Job, friends, family, freetime activities, music and other things are not easy to combine when you don’t have the time you need. But we produce new beats and tracks in the studio, learning more about music notes and arrangement. We are looking forward to our next gigs at Elipamanoke Leipzig (our living room), Institut Fuer Zukunft Leipzig, Bukowski Heilbronn and something really special in the beginning of 2018. Then we would like to focus on the summer with our lovely crew ZWISCHENWELTEN. Have a look at our page and stay tuned.
