Q: Four man behind looks like a "boy band". How have you guys met each other and what's the story behind your artist name?

A: We are all friends from the same town in South Germany. We don't have a big local scene like Berlin or Cologne so it was obvious to us that we had to work hard to be recognized. The name came from a homage to a "Rage Against The Machine" track with the same title.

Q: Guess it's not that easy to match all tastes when producing or playing your music. How do you arrange with this in the studio or on the stage?

A: We all have different backgrounds and talents. It takes time to bring all of those together, but at the end of the day everyone in the team benefits from our diverse pool of skillsets. What most people don't see that we don't just produce, we handle the whole thing ourselves, from management to booking, video productions, marketing etc.. Basically all the areas artists need to handle these days. On the stage we currently play as a team of two representing Township at gigs.

Q: Which future projects are on the way?

A: We are starting our first bigger international tours towards the end of the year. There will also be a few more releases this year to look forward to.

Q: Tell us about your mix. How did these tracks have an impact on your later doings?

A: The tracks in the mix played an important role in my career as a DJ and producer. Apart from the Kraftwerk tune, all of them are from the period between 1990 - 1997, the time when I got infected with the Techno & House virus and started to buy records and became step by step a DJ. I still love them all, they are timeless and still playable, which is amazing.

Q: Your tour schedule looks huge. Where do you find your rest?

A: Somewhere in between touring, studio work and family life. Honestly more while touring than at home with 2 little kids.

Q: Which Resmann and Upon.You projects are upcoming?

A: End of September I will release my third EP on Poker Flat Recordings. I’ve contributed a track for the 15 Years Watergate compilation, which will be out in November. I also have my third EP on Watergate Records in the pipeline, which I produced together with some great talents from South Africa at the Red Bull Studio in Cape Town. Oliver Huntemann delivered a badass Techno Remix. Release date will be probably November or December. With Upon You we're celebrating our 10 years anniversary and are planning a jubilee compilation as well. More info soon.

Q: Talking about your mix and the selection. Why did you choose these tracks and what do they mean to you?

A: I have chosen these tracks because they are super representative for my influence since the last 20 years regarding the electronic dance music. I have been playing it (and still playing) and I can find here some futuristic sounds even when they did it years ago.

Q: You recently started your „umamii“ event series – a multisensory experience how you call it. Please tell us more about it!

A: "Umamii" is different kind of event, it’s an experience more than just a party. We decided to start with our own event, avoiding to follow the same ideas as other promoters when it comes to marketing, line ups and also installations in the clubs. We based "Umamii" on neuromarketing studies and our goal is to thrill our fans. We want to make each and every person enjoy every moment of the experience through more than just music. I hope that everyone comes with an open mind to a place where they can meet other similar personalities and forget all their problems!

Q: Which further UNER projects are coming? I´ve heard there is a new album in progress?

A: Yes. There are a lot of projects coming soon. And a new album is one of the most importants. I'm still composing the material but it will come during 2018. It's a huge project at the moment, but I'm also working on a soundtrack for a film and some remixes and originals, and of course, Solar Distance and a brand new label. But everything will happen during the 18'.

Q: Talking about your mix. How did these tracks have an impact on your later career?

A: I think its difficult to say that particular tracks have had an impact but more that listening to all of this music over the years has been very influential.

Q: What´s the secret behind your artist name - if there is a secret?

A: I needed a new name. I used the letters from my surname Robertson and made Reset Robot. Its nearly an anagram.

Q: You included your latest release on (please insert label) as the last track. Which other RR projects are coming soon?

A: I included my latest release on Mobilee as the last track. You can expect to hear more music from me on my own label Whistleblower Records, Last Night On Earth and Truesoul.

Q: Tell us about your mix, how did these tracks form your career as a DJ and producer?

A: As a producer, I love tracks that intrigue me, tracks that leave me in awe of the artistry behind them, be it great writing or sound design. As a private listener, there’s no such category, tracks speak to me or they don’t. All these tracks are my evergreens, tracks I’ve been listening to for years and they’ve had tremendous impact on my work as a producer. I try not to copy ideas, but I’m sure the subconscious does its part.

I come from a background of extreme metal and ambient which has shaped my sound aesthetic considerably in my opinion. I still love distortion and monotonous drones and pads and I feel like I’m still building on the foundation that those years gave me. I love tracks with a subtle, shoegaze-ish vibe that take their time and gradually pull the listener in. It’s very important to me not to lose my fandom for music as a producer – this is what this mix represents to me.

Q: Your homebase for releases is the Steyoyoke crew. What´s special being inside this family?

A: All the members of Steyoyoke are like family to me. We’ve seen trials and successes together and I feel very fortunate to be able to work so closely with such a dedicated group of people. We all have very different musical backgrounds but somehow we make it work. The level of collaboration is very high, we constantly feedback each other and do a lot of joint eps and projects. Working so closely with other producers is a constant source of inspiration.

Q: Which Dahu projects are coming soon?

A: I’ve been touring a lot the past few months so I’m looking forward to get back to the studio to finish my next ep on Steyoyoke which is scheduled for later this year. I’m also gradually working on playing live – but that’s still a while down the road at this point.
