What is God like?

How does He respond when you do what’s “right?”

How does He respond when you do what’s “wrong?”

How does God feel about achievement?

The answers to these questions shape a large amount of your relationship with God.

They will also shape how you feel towards God, how you feel like God feels towards you, and therefore how much time you will WANT to spend with God.

If you’re like me, you’ve spent a lot of time feeling like God is much more “with you” when you’re doing what’s right vs when you’re doing what’s wrong.

To me, that creates an unsafe relationship with God. One that’s based on performance. And therefore, you won’t want to spend that much time with Him.

Now, I believe God is with me no matter what I’m doing. And, he encourages me to do things that will bring the most fulfillment… but is with me even if I don’t.

This has helped me feel much more safe with God, and so I like spending time with Him much more.
