Ron is a Miami native with 15 years' experience in public policy and government. Through his firm, November Strategies, he advised countless local, state and federal candidate and issue campaigns. Prior to REEF, Ron worked on the legislative team at the National Education Association's Florida affiliate, the largest association of professional employees in the South.
He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A first-generation college student, he founded the school's first Latino Center to advance opportunities for current and future Hispanic students.
Ron then continued his advocacy at the ACLU, defending and promoting civil liberties in Florida. Ron worked as Political Director for SEIU - the nation's largest healthcare union, representing nurses, doctors, and healthcare professionals – in Miami.
He was named one of Miami's "Leaders of the Future" by LatinoLeaders Magazine as and one of the "30-under-30 Rising Stars" in Florida Politics. For eight years, Ron served on the Board of Directors of Miami-Dade's oldest and largest LGBT advocacy organization SAVE.
Ron is of Venezuelan-Colombian heritage and lives on Miami Beach with his wife Maria and their husky Lola.
