  • Ep 209 Abstract Cityscapes with Joanna Gresik
I have been crushing on Joanna’s incredible work for years since we were in Crystal’s Year Of Creative Habit course where Joanna created more work than anyone in the class! Joanna’s work has always been some of my favorite because of her focus on city scenes. She has such a clear and defined style as she celebrates all the beauty and inspiration that the city holds. She shares how she finds inspiration, why she loves the city and tips for you to start sketching cities yourself! Listen in and get excited to take your next vacation in the city!
    How She Creates Challenge
This week we want you to go outside and sketch a city scene! Be brave, take your sketchbook and preferred art materials and sketch your favorite area of your city. It could be in your neighborhood, downtown, anywhere that there are buildings to draw! Don’t feel like you can’t participate if you aren’t in a big city. Downtown areas in any city are the perfect inspiration scene! Share your work with us (and any stories from onlookers who spot you!) on the hashtag #howshecreates.

  • Ep 208 Dance with Abby Williamson
This week is another very important and special episode. I want this podcast to keep shining lights on women who are doing incredible things for the world and this episode is the perfect example of that. This week I am interviewing my, in real life, friend Abby. We taught a Zumba class together in Korea and I fell in love with her and her sweet family. They are kind, generous, selfless and oh so creative! Abby shares all about the creative process when it comes to expressing your creativity through dance. Her wisdom and words transcend all art forms and will inspire you to break a little more free in your creative work and be bold in your self expression. Abby talks about inspiration gathering, using your mistakes to grow, how to take on a new creative challenge (like dance) as an adult, and how creativity and dance helps heal our souls. She shares about their incredible plan to move to Nepal to be teacher trainers and to bring arts and healing to the community there.
A note about learning more and partnering with Abby & Ross for their work in Nepal:
If you are as excited and intrigued as I am about the Williamsons journey to Nepal they would like to invite you to fill out the “Join Us” form on our website and receive our newsletter and/or more info. They would love to keep in touch through their newsletter with stories from Nepal and can share how you can support them on this journey. Be sure to tell them you found them via How She Creates!

  • Ep 205 Creative Self-Care with Caroline Zook
Caroline Zook is one of my personal creative mentors. I have loved her work and read every word she’s written for years. How She Creates Challenge: This week we want to know: what does your soul need today? Our challenge is from Caroline’s great wisdom and intuitiveness, when you wake up in the morning ask yourself: what does my soul need today. It can be time to create, time to explore, time to get sh*t done! Anything. Spend a few moments of self reflection, see what your soul needs and then do the thing. Snap a photo of it and then share it with us under the #howshecreates hashtag.
