Behaviors that we have, are learned behaviors, and oftentimes they're learned out of the need to survive or the need to feel better.

Habits, whether they're good habits or bad habits are formed in the exact same way. And because of that, we can overcome habits that don't serve us well

The tiny habits method was designed by Dr. BJ Fogg. From Stanford University.

What this model tells us is that behaviors happen when motivation, ability, and a prompt come together at the same time. What's most important here is realizing that every single behavior that occurs, whether it's our own behavior or somebody else's behavior, originates with a prompt, which is a call to action like when the doorbell rings. That's the call to action to answer the door.

And so when you're looking at human behavior, you start recognizing that those three elements go into every single human behavior. The converse is also true. If you want to stop a behavior, then you need to remove one of those elements. That makes that behavior harder for somebody to do.
