Love Ryke and Kate

I loved this couple in book one and was happy to see their story continuo. Now married they can't escape the heartache and fears that lay ahead of them yet again. Will their love be strong enough to survive?

A wonderful story of hope, strength and love. Absolute loved it. A definite recommend.

3 Reasons for the 2 Stars

1) Im irritated that I had to spend 2 credits to hear this couples full story. There was enough unnecessary fluff in both books that it could have easily been one book.

2) I couldnt stand the female lead with her stereotypical lack of confidence and feelings of unworthiness. She was also irritatingly neurotic. And, of course the male lead was rich and cocky, yet perfectly behaved. Cliché much? My eyes hurt from rolling them so much.

3) Finally, there were some sensitive subjects, both in the main plot and subplots, that I felt were handled carelessly for the sake of manufactured drama. It was very off putting.

Would you listen to Captive again? Why?

I would listen to CAPTIVE again and again. I just love this story, and I love Jason Ryker to death. Brenda Rothert has carried on the story she began in BOUND in such a way as to be seamless, and I just adore it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Captive?

All of them, but I loved the scene when the midwife showed up, and both Kate's and Ryke's reaction to her.

What does Chris Ruen and Kirsten Leigh bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Chris and Kirsten really make the story here. Their narration just adds so much to, not only CAPTIVE, but to every book that I've heard them read. They both capture the characters so well, and make Ryke and Kate, as well as all of the other characters, so much more real.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"Is his love enough to set her free?"

Any additional comments?

I would recommend CAPTIVE to any lover of Brenda's books, but also to anyone that enjoys a good romance with a side of hot hockey players. I could not get enough of this one, and absolutely devoured it.

I WAS TRANSFIXED FROM THE MOMENT THEY MET

This isn't the type of book I usually go for.... but WOW it absolutely blew me away in oh so many ways. The handsome Hero Sabastian suffers from OCD and has probably been that way since a childhood drama happened when he was just 8 years old. He was skinny, strange, obsessive and was called names, bullied and made fun of during his High School years and he eventually moved to NYC and became a Lawyer to try to overcome and fit in when he was older. But relationships proved hard when you have to check things over and over again, when you have mood swings or when you have to do things in 8's or in even numbers. So now Sebastian has moved back to his Hometown for peace, tranquility and to try to get control of his life.... and to stay away from people. However, the feelings Sebastian brought out in me as I listened to his story was how vulnerable, shy, misunderstood and loveable he was and I just wanted to give him a great big hug...... but that will prove to be Skylar's job.

Beautiful Skylar was the popular girl in School, made friends easily and moved to NYC with dreams of becoming a famous Actress - but the only thing she achieved was being labelled as 'the bitch' on a reality dating show. The Producers wanted her to act that way and clever editing did the rest which had her trashing her Hometown and its residents in order to boost ratings. So now, with not much to show for her years trying to make it big, the only thing left is for her to go home.... but the Town's residents aren't at all understanding, sympathetic or forgiving.

JEEEEZ... I THINK I'M GOING TO NEED THERAPY AFTER THIS LISTEN

What a powerful whirlwind of a listen this was because it picked me up from where it had so cruelly abandoned me at the end of book 1, then it ruthlessly tossed all my emotions around, threw in shocks surprises and twists and finally it left me utterly tempest tossed..... but oh so so happy.

This new and gifted Author packed so much delicious drama into the many riveting and tension packed hours.... a soul deep passionate romance, hot sex, danger, the Irish Mafia, heartbreak, a hot dirty talking Alpha Hero, a feisty but vulnerable Heroine and there's also a close family unit of secondary characters. I'm not even going to give you a skeleton outline of the plot because there's so much action, suspense, heartache and a beautiful love story that's all yours to uncover.... but I will say that Mandi Beck certainly didn't hold back on the emotional punches.

As with book 1, it's mainly told from Deacon's powerful, volatile, fraught and very emotional POV and again Wen and Kai did a great job at making this story flow so well which maxed out my enjoyment because they brought each Chapter to life.

Worth a credit? Mandi Beck is a new Author and she'll be an auto download from now on because she blew me away with this powerful listen and the characters contained within it who I've been to Hell and back with and have grown so fond of.... sniff sniff - I'll miss them all. This second slice of Deacon and Frankie's explosive, all consuming and turbulent love story, IMO was definitely, unconditionally, absolutely and totally creditworthy.... in fact I'm tempted to listen to it all over again.

Adrenaline Rush!!!!

This team did it again! Wen and Kai flowed flawlessly as ever. The ending was perfect!! This was more emotional than the first but that made it all the better. Thank you Beck for an amazing Duet, I can't wait to read or listen to the next!

Great conclusion to Frankie & Deacon's story!

Where does Love Burns rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

Definitely towards the top! I really love Wen and Kai's voices and they really were the perfect Deacon and Frankie.

What did you like best about this story?

I really liked the suspense and action in this book, in addition to the romance and witty banter. Deacon has THE BEST shirts and I love how fiercely all the characters love and rally around each other. They aren't afraid to call the other out on their BS, and the digs and comebacks are hilarious!

Which character as performed by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott was your favorite?

Indie is such a hoot! I love the way Kai brings her to life! She has some of the best lines and comebacks.

Hooked!!!

Started with the Talons and now I seem to be going backwards to the Redwoods. I soo hooked in them all and the way Salinas tells the story!!!

Love these wolves.

I love the Redwoods and it is so exciting to see them coming together with the Talons. I also enjoy the look at what used to be the babies of the Redwoods growing up and finding their place.

Now off to the Talons I go.

Not one of her best works

Would you try another book from Lisa Renee Jones and/or Erin Bennett?

Yes, I've liked her work before so I would probably give her another chance.

Has Need You Now turned you off from other books in this genre?

I was not fond of the male lead. He seemed arrogant and dismissive. It hasn't soured me on the genre, but has left a bad taste for this series. Very bad cliff hangar ending

Not sure, her performance was just okay.

It's impossible not to fall in love with the main characters in Tammy Falkners series about the Reed Brothers. Every time I start a new audiobook I start with the thought: This time the main characters cannot be as gorgeous as the main characters in the last book but every time I'm wrong. I like this series contains main characters with different kind of disabilities. This time it's about Lark with deep scars both physical and emotional and Ryan born deaf and lived with parents and friends deaf too. Will Lark be able to fit into this deaf culture and can she trust Ryan with her scars - scars she shows no one else?

I truly love the Reed Brothers and their male friends. They are gentlemen and so kind and respectful. The females are strong and very lovingly. Their friendship and love are remarkable and it makes me feeling great when I listen to this series. I love the series is with different kind of disabilities and the life living with the disabilities but without it being a big problem.

Sweet, tender romance

The great thing about Donna's books are the sweet, tender, vulnerable people. Are the a bit starry-eyed in their endings? Sure and that's what's great about them. And she has the best taste in performers, which only makes them better.

Who can resist a Christmas romance in a small town between childhood friends? Fireplug McCrea and Ben Campbell certainly can't. Fireplug Fi is a modern flawed person. Ben's a good and normal man. And their story is just lovely.

Another perfect addition to one of my favorite series! I will admit I secretly hope this series never ends. I know, it must because we have already run out of Reeds and soon will be without a Zero who hasn't found love.

When we met the girls (as I call them) in prior books, I wondered and worried how broken of each of them truly was. We learned early on that each girl had suffered tremendously and that is how they became a family. When Tag entered the picture in GGG I hoped he would find his solace. I hoped he would connect with one of the girls and show her love. Again, Tammy Falkner gave me exactly what I hoped for.

Tag and Fin/Finny/Finch are perfection. Tag, Fin & Benji? Amazingly perfect. I loved watching both Tag and Fin struggle with their feelings and desires. Their connection was instantaneous and set the pages on fire. It was more than the physical connection they share, it was their souls coming together. I laughed, I cried and I smiled in pure joy.

A wonderful story, a wonderful love, another wonderful part of the family tree. I cannot wait for Lark's story. I know she will break my heart a little, her secrets run deep.

can't get enough of this series!

All the stars! I love this series & have from the beginning. It just builds & builds on the family & has expanded to include new families - but they are all part of the Reed fam. We met Tag in the previous book & we weren't sure what his story was going to be. It's beautiful & heartbreaking, as is Finny's. I love them both, and the flow of their story is so adorably done. And the hint we get of Lark's story at the end... *hearts* : )

Sweet but lacked heat

For the most part I enjoyed reading this story. Tag and Finch were likable characters. There was a role reversal which I liked because it was different. Finch had a romantic side, which he showed throughout the story. He wanted a commitment from Finch as opposed to one night stand and liked to cuddle almost as much as having sex. Actually he did not want to have sex. He wanted to make love. It was great that Tag was not a manhoe. He had only been with one other woman before being with Finch. By contrast, Finch had a lot of one night stands which is unusual for heroines. If one of the characters sleeps around a lot, it is usually the hero as opposed to the heroine. I was relieved that Finch and Tag did not have sex with OP, which was a concern of mine given that Finch frequently hooked up with men and there was a separation.

As much as I liked Tag, it irritated me that he left for months without letting Finch know that he was going, right after having sex with her for the first time. It was a sleazeball move not to say goodbye, which would have cost him very little.

So true to life!

What made the experience of listening to Surviving the Biker the most enjoyable?

I love the narrator Nina Sumter's voice. She does such a great job with the voices.

Mud because he is beyond despicable!

Yes! I listened to it in one sitting. During a road trip and clung to each word.

Surviving the Biker picks up where Resisting the Biker left off. Adriana is upset at Trevor and ignoring him while his ex-girl friend is playing the pregnant card and using guilt to shack up with him. The things she does in the book are beyond rotten. Theres quite a few eerie characters in this book that made my skin crawl. Especially Mud.

I hate to say too much and give anything away but theres tons of excitement and suspense as the story progresses. The storyline is easy to follow and

This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This is one of the dumbest books I have ever listened to. Completely far fetched - bikers acting like teen girls would act. I seriously can't believe how dumb this is!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Narrator was ok - not really fond of her reading... Some of the different voices she tried to do were so BAD... and the so called "evil laughs" a small child could have done better!

You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I think a 12 year old could have written a better story then this one....

This will absolutely be returned and I will never attempt to listen to another book by this author. What a joke!

Enjoyed very much...

I really enjoyed this book, and listening to it while driving to and from work. You always wanted to know how the characters work things out.
