cute story overall but the characters (especially Lily's) are rather shallow and the story is not that interesting. the perfomance is ok, l liked Dash's narration better.

Really annoying narration

I literally cannot stand the woman's voice - it drove me crazy and made it difficult to listen. I kept wanting to turn it down so far I wouldn't be able to hear the story

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story started out as a quite enjoyable one, but when the author's had to insert absolutely disgusting ideas to a Christmas Tradition, it ruined everything!

Some tears, some drama, and loads of laughs!

4.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!

You just gotta love Kindle Unlimited! And throw in narration and you have one pretty happy book whore on your hands. Especially when said book whore discovers new-to-me authors and storylines that are fresh and different from what is out there. It was and enjoyable read with some tears, some drama, and loads of laughs.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me on my toes and had me hooked from page one. The narrator hooked me even more and I ended up listening more than and I did reading. She really brought the characters to life and I felt I connected more listening rather than reading.

I will be on the lookout for more books by Tawna Fenske.

What a fun read that really keeps you interested

It is hard to think of much of anything that would be worse than finally getting the strength to face your ex and forgiving him for cheating than to go visit him at the hospital and find out he die then you have to face his whole family. I really liked how the author makes the reader feel sorry for so many people and then makes us laugh and smile. It was a very enjoyable listen that I will enjoy listening to again.

Teri Schnaubelt did an outstanding job on narration she puts so much emotion into her audios. You could really feel what each character was feeling as she almost brings you to tears in the heartbreaking story of a past love that went wrong to an old friend that could be more. I loved how she showed the humor as well as the sorrow it really pulls on your heart. Her tones are even and smooth with no high or low volume just a smooth even voice with lots of emotions. I really enjoy listening to her and could listen to her voice all day. She has wonderful character voices it easy to tell who was talking and what they were feeling. The males had rich deep tones and the women had wonderful sexy tones. There were no background noise, no repeating or wording or any volume changes and if a break was taken you could not tell. She gives you a rich sexy read that at times will make you laugh. She knows how to hook her listener pulling them in giving a very enjoyable listen.

I enjoyed the characters, how the story played out keeping us guessing on something, making us cheer at other times and breaking our hearts when we know these two really do care about the other but so much stands in their way. The twists and turns kept it very interesting making this a page turner. I loved how Kyle comes clean even though he knows it will tear them apart.

Nice to hear from Samantha Young again

Samantha wrote an easy to follow, very hopeful and positive book about forgiveness and love.

I love the way that Samantha Young builds her stories and layers on subplots. Her "background characters" are always my favorite and it was no different in this book.

I had a hard time with the ending. It's hard to write why without giving up the plot but I can say that I thought there was a big to-do about nothing.

That being said, it's a Samantha Young book, therefore it's very well written and extremely entertaining!

Tad and Angelica are dream narrators. I have not one criticism to give them, excellent choice for this book!

An Intense Emotional Journey

I am probably one of the ONLY people who has never read/listened to On Dublin Street, Samantha Young's most famous novel. But this first edition of the Hart's Boardwalk Series piqued my interest, and I'm so glad it did.

Jessica is a doctor at a women's prison, a career she seems to thrive in. At least, in her own mind. When her coworker reminds her that she never takes any time off, Jessica plans a vacation to a spot not too far away in Hartwell. She books three weeks in a seaside inn and prepares to restore her inner peace. The homey, small-town atmosphere in Hartwell takes her by surprise, making her wonder if she is, really, happy in her job, or in her life.

Cooper owns the local pub on the Boardwalk, and from the very first time they lay eyes on each other, the sparks start to smolder. Neither of them is looking for anything long term--Cooper is still trying to get over finding his ex-wife in bed with his best friend. But fate has other plans.

I found this to be the whole package as far as contemporary romance goes. Great characterization, some mystery throughout, development of a relationship in a slow, believable manner, and some hot sex scenes. I totally enjoyed it, and will NOW be going on to listen to On Dublin Street.

As far as narration: I enjoyed the story being told by two narrators, male and female.

Wonderful!

I am rapidly putting MJ Fields and Chelsea Cameron on my top list of favorite authors! This second book in the series about 3 brothers is about the middle brother Morrison. He's a slick operator who cruises Las Vegas making money playing cards. The heroine, Hailey, is a poor girl who was served up to a nasty criminal by her own mother who was a prostitute. Trapped in a faux marriage, she has a young daughter who is the center of her world. Their two lives collide in a casino where she's working as a cocktail waitress. When they meet in the parking lot, he's entranced by her and decides he has to see her again. When the thug threatens to take her daughter away from her for collateral for a supposed 'debt' she owes him, Morrison takes Hailey and Marissa her daughter home to Detroit and the safety of his family. Morrison sees it his destiny to save them from this 'debt' and this evil man, while Hailey has to find out if she can trust a man to really love her instead of own her. Great narration!

I loved this as an eBook, I love it even more as audio , Jeremy York is the perfect Morrison the tones and the emotions he put in I fell in love with, Elizabeth was awesome , I am now looking for more books done by them.

this is one series I'm looking for the next audible book. if not then I'll just read the next book. the characters in the story are well written which kept me interested. plus, the narrators read the story with true emotions or at least it seems too.

Another Great Listen

This title in the series is just as good as the first. I highly recommend it. Well worth the credit!

Morrison gets his Platinum

In this second book in the series, Morrison finds his girl and he falls hard. He swoops in to protects her and her daughter, living up to the legacy his Mother left behind "to do good in this world of bad". It is a journey that is exciting to tag along, the element of the underworld adds an edge, and their off the charts chemistry adds some spice. Not everything is as it seems, the unexpected revelations are surprising, which kept me listening. Love the bond between the brothers, their loyalty and compassion for those who are hurt. Jared was officiating their wows too and his speech was awesome. Hope we will get to know his story too. Looking forward to the next one, Jagger's story.

Can't get enough of this series

Seems like every new edition to the scarred souls series offers more depth and backstory to Tillie Cole's dark bratva world. It was nice to get to know Zoya and Valentin. Just like my reviews for the other books in this series, I'm going to mention that this is very dark. I loved the story but it seems like their love started with Stockholm syndrome. Trigger warning for torture, sexual assault, rape, mutilation and murder.

Tillie Cole Wrecked Me!

I think this is one of Tillie Cole's darkest stories yet! She really knows how to develop a scene that's intense, dark, raw, unapologetic and doesn't hold back. These well thought out detailed scenes will take you to a terrible place with a horrible monster who only knows how to deliver pain and death. Zoya may have been the monster's captive, but I felt their angst, pain, and torment and was left emotionally wrecked. This story captivated me, appalled me, left me on pins and needles, but I was helplessly glued to my headphones and loved every minute of it. Right there with Zoya, seeing the monster through her eyes, the one who would do anything to save those he loved, the one she saw past his scares, the one she wanted to save, the beautiful monster she feel hopelessly, utterly in love with.

Ravage is told from three POV's and I like how Luka is still a big part of the subplot. I love authors who are skilled enough to write a romance about two main characters falling in love, but can also incorporate other POVs giving the story more substance. Cole did an outstanding job with the three POVs giving more depth without making it too complex or hard to keep up with. I love her writing style, characters and how she uses dark plots to make the romance and love that much more meaningful.

Loved

What did you love best about Going Down Easy?

I loved getting to know Kaden and Lexie. She is a strong female who starts to fall for her boss who goes threw assistants like crazy. They make a great team. This book gripped my attention from the beginning and even though it is a very predicable story I couldn't put it down.

I loved the secondary characters in this book as well. I can't wait to get to know them more.

Great story!

From beginning to end, I loved this book. It was fast paced, with great characters you will love instantly.

While the book itself is in a dual POV, the audible version only has a female narrator. Personally this isn't my favorite. I prefer for a male narrator to do the male chapters/POV. But it works well enough with this book. The narrator's voice is soothing and does well between narrating and changing tone for the different voices.

Kaden is a genuinely stand up guy, always wanting to do the right thing. It's kind of surprising because so many people have betrayed him. His life experience has proved that especially women continually screw him over. That's caused him to have deep trust issues even when it comes to letting any women in just, even a little bit.

Lexi is loyal, caring and honest. She is so used to caring for others and selflessly gives up her own needs and wants for the care of others. Because of this, it leaves her no time for relationships and even if she could make time, she's too nervous to risk it. Her past experience has shown that other men aren't as willing to share her when it comes to her caring for her sister's constant needs. Family is more important than anything and Lexi won't risk getting involved with anyone and ruining the relationship between her and her sister.

Lexi becomes Kaden's personal assistant. It's at a time in his life that is especially stressful and he's surprised to find out how much she helps balance him. But he still can't help but be wary about her. In an attempt to protect his heart he tries to keep her at an arms length. Of course Lexi being the caring and compassionate person she is, she is set on breaking through Kaden's walls and being there to help support him. There's a bit of drama from the outside that threatens to tear these two apart. Given their priorities and insecurities it's hard for each to let the other in. But love proves to be stronger than any other factors.

Overall it was a good read. The characters strong, the storyline good. Some drama and angst but not overwhelming or distracting.

I thought it was rather slow

I thought this audiobook was rather slow. I had never listened to it but yet I started "fast forwarding" through it. A first listen should not be like that. I am not going to buy any others in the series is how slow I thought it was. I fear they will all be that way. I thought it had promise but yet another author writes the heroine in a way that they get other betrayals after the first day or so. They are so devastated by what the person did to them but yet they forgive them 5 minutes after they talk in stories like this. But regardless, at first I thought maybe it was going to be good but after a few chapters it just dragged on and on with nothing much interesting going on. Disappointed about that.

The narration was fine. You may think the female sounds a little mousy but honestly I was able to put up with that because her character is very young through most of it.

Good

This book goes back and forth between past and present to give you the full story. Nice character development through flashbacks. I did have a little trouble keeping all the characters straight. Other characters have their stories told in separate books. Each book could be a stand alone as it does not end with a huge cliffhanger.

I'm addicted to this author

I am SO addicted to this author. Complicate Me killed me slowly with the slow burn. Mercifully, this both was different. Forbidden romance with so much heat & heart it make me burn & swoon! I really had to pay attention with the back and forth between past & present but it only heightened the anticipation. I can't wait to dive into Undo Me. These stories just keep getting better and better. This author has made it on my one click list in short order!

No! This series can't be over!

This series was an awesome ride and I've really enjoyed listening to each of characters stories! While Doc's story was really good, I felt it was too short, and slightly underdeveloped. I'm definitely looking forward to moving on to Dahlia's other audiobook series Rapid City Stories!

Not bad at all

While I found the book was too short the story was pretty good. I listened/read all 5 books only 3 made the cut. Sadly Hawk and Easy didn't get the best stories. I like Izzy because she was a really strong, no nonsense woman. I loved how she stood up to Doc and made things happened. He was a bit of a twisted mess and she was more than willing to stand by him and help him. I would have liked a couple of extra chapters to finish the series properly.

Great crime drama with a tough of romance

Well-written crime drama with detective work and suspense. Oh, and a romance along the way.

Intriguing main and secondary characters.

A few hot scenes. Mostly vanilla.

I like the narration.

I want more!

This series is fantastic I can't wait for the next book. Each character is amazing and it is wonderful how they find and accept the new people into their family. I have lost a lot of sleep because of this series and don't regret it at all. Please keep them coming.
