I try to look for the good, but I can only describe the narration as this: if my computer animated reading software was running low on batteries after running an extreme endurance race and was bored. Sorry not sorry

I am not a fan at all.

The narration falls flat but that could just be due to the content. I have to finish a book no matter how awful it is. This one I read in stages just to finish.... kinda choked it down and it left a bad after taste. Just wham bam I'm sticking it in your rear! blah blah blah.

The womans point of view: I need to be punished just for having a vagina cause I can't listen and punishing me makes me realize how much I need to be stuffed......(paraphrased).

I cringed at parts that I believe we're meant to be "hot" and I laughed at many of the phrases, not the good kinda laugh but the WTF kinda laugh.

I Loved This Story

I first read this author's work under the Bridgewater series. I fell in love with her work and have purchased just about everything she has written. The Bridgewater books are all menage books. This book was not. 'Some might say the plots are simplistic, but that doesn't bother me. Sometimes I want a simple, straightforward book that gets to the point, that has a good plot, developed characters, and good sex. Ms. Vale delivers that with her books. I recently read a book by another author, also a series, but sci-fi, and the characters were so complex, I actually had to get a sheet of paper and write down who was who. In this book, the lawman orders a mail-order bride. The heroine thinks she has killed someone in Minneapolis and flees. To her horror, when she gets off the stage, her new husband is the sheriff. There's enough plot to make the story artistically interesting. Enough sex to fulfill the erotica part I like. The story hangs together well and has a great ending. Out of all the books I've purchased from Ms. Vale, only one has been a disappointment. If you are looking for a romantica book that has good sex, nice plot, but is not overly long, this is the book for you.

Bad Boy Tony

Tony is considered the screw up in this elite family. Rita has a vendetta against the family and works for a man who wants to destroy the Essiens. There will be some shocking family secrets revealed and redemption.

Awesome

I started reading book 1 and got caught up wuth the brothers. But this bnok three Tony was really a bad boy, the tough one. Look I ng forward to reading abr the bodyguards

Ehhhh. . .overall still good

This was most definitely not the best book of the series. I kept feeling like the story was not developed and at times I wanted to put the book down. I loved the plot, but the relationship between Rita and Tony just didnt seem realistic. Another thing that I didn't like, but at the same time appreciated was how Tony was expressed in raw form. At some points I yelled for him to "man up" because I had grown accustomed to his bad boy image- I think Rita even questioned his character at one point.

All in all, this book flowed with the series, it just left more to be desired.

Heat with Heart

I couldnât wait for the third installment of The Essien Trilogy. I knew it would passionate, dramatic and a hang onto your seat type of story. I wasnât disappointed.

To be honest I didnât like Tony when I first met him in this book. Sure I found him sexy as hell, but his arrogance and live-life-for-himself manner, annoyed me. Everything changed during one scene where he came to Ritaâs defense. The more I got to know the real Tony, the more I liked him. One thing I appreciated about the heroine, Rita, was that when it was time to be strong she was.

This story had the steamiest sex scenes of the whole trilogy and yet the heart of it shone through ensuring that it maintained balance.

This a trilogy to read!

I loved the story and the fact that it was not the same thing rewritten over. I was enjoyed the bad guy finally getting what he deserved. I love the African history and facts added. I am a Kiru Taye's new and excited fan! I look forward to reading the three additional books I just purchased; including Kola's story!

Seriously?

What disappointed you about Monsternomicon?

I don't even know where to start. When it comes to erotic short stories, I don't expect a world-class level of writing. Give me something original, as long as the dialogue isn't AWFUL and I can go along with it. This book of short stories seemed intriguing. There were no reviews but I took a chance. The first story was OK. Kind of hot if your tastes go toward the kinky. My issue with the book? You can LITERALLY take the first story, change the first few minutes of set-up "plot" then copy and paste the EXACT SAME SEX SCENE just substituting the word monster, for ghost, or dragon, or bear-man, or puppet man (not kidding), etc. etc. etc. I am NOT exaggerating. Same dialogue, same EXACT order of what happens first, second, third etc. Same dirty talk, usually WORD for WORD. I kept thinking it CAN'T go on like that for all 20 stories, can it? OH. YES. IT. CAN. I have never seen anything like this. It's like the author has only one single fantasy, and just replaces the players. What a sad, missed opportunity. Wasted credit.

Did Hannah Wilde do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

She was OK considering the material. Since 99% of the narration is in the girl's head, she rarely HAD to differentiate, but when she had to, it wasn't great.

There were numerous editing mistakes as well. Lines read more than once and not my book skipping since the inflections were slightly different.

An anthology should be a compilation of DIFFERENT stories. Not the same story told 20 times.

Heavy on Plot, Characterization, and Ridiculously Good Writing

I don't even know where to begin with this book....

People expecting the run of the mill erotica will be pleasantly surprised at this wonderful piece of sexy, smutty science fiction. The plot is wonderfully cheesy, reminiscent of old pulp adventure serials and space operas. Although it does have only a couple of sexy scenes in almost a hundred pages of prose, those sexy scenes are well worth waiting for in this fantastic piece of literature. The writing style may be dense for some people, but it spoke to my geek heart. I love this book.

My Review For The Story Itself

Was the curse a lack of trust? I couldnt help wondering that.

The story starts with an erotic shocker, which I quite enjoyed. The writing began solid, very sharp and visual and that didnt let up. The sex scenes were very well written. It isnt easy to keep things fresh when there are ample amounts of them, but Melos managed to do just that. They were all beautifully paced. The story itself was lightly plotted but executed to perfection.

My Review for the Narration

Narration work isnt easy when it comes to erotica. You want someone who can both tell a story, and get you hard as fucking rock, keep you hard, and eventually get you off. I mean, sorry not sorry to be so blunt, but thats the whole point of erotica. Sierra Kline wasnt good she was perfect. You could tell she put in the work. Every voice was expertly done, the lust in her voice during those raunchy scenes in the book is the reason for global warming hot, hot, hot!

One of the best erotic books I listened to. Didn't like the parts where two women were all over each other-just loved the parts where the man and woman were together.

This book is very hot, if you are looking to listen to a lot of sex, with some classic stories then this is for you. I really enjoyed it and the new take on some classic tales, but there wasn't ever really a moment where I thought, oh that's different, or I've never seen that done before. Then again I listen to a lot of fantasy novels and I find that they all get to be rather similar after a while.
