¡Por fin una novela sin violencia, depravación y palabrotas! No soy mojigato, pero es refrescante leer un libro inspirado y muy entretenido al mismo tiempo. Esta novela tiene todo: una trama no tanto enrevesada, personajes fascinantes y escrito en una prosa sobresaliente y bien comprensible. El protagonista, Samuel de Juan, es un solitario treinton con pocos amigos y muy introvertido. Su vida consiste en trabajar como profesor de alemán, leer literatura variopinta y escuchar a música clásica. Esta vida aburrida va a cambiar a bruces cuando un gato callejero de improviso llega en su vida el primer día del año nuevo. Ya empieza un recorrido lleno de amigos nuevos y estrafalarios; el encuentro renovado con un amiga perdida desde la infancia; y, lo más importante, la confianza en sí mismo. A charming novel from Catalonia

The novel, Amor en Minúscula, caught my attention for two reasons: First, I love stories where cats are essential elements to the plot. Secondly, I like stories set in Spain, specifically Barcelona. The author, Francesc Miralles, kept my attention throughout the book. At first, I wondered if the book was a memoir, but I soon realized that it was a modern-day novel.

In Amor en Minúscula, Francesc Miralles develops an endearing story about Samuel, a young and lonely German professor who befriends a stray cat.

Sometimes a Great Notion, Tropic of Cancer

I have to restrain myself from references to Dispatches, Huckleberry Finn, A Fanâs Notes, Manchild in the Promised Land, Sometimes a Great Notion, Tropic of Cancer... The astonishing voice splayed me all over the literary map of my favorite books. And the book is about much more than voice: Morris is natural storyteller. And, finally, the line-by-line humanness is the absolute killer heart of this brilliant first novel.

Nails the middle aged white dude experience

Finished Kevin Morris's new novel "All Joe Knight" yesterday and couldn't recommend it more highly. As with his short story collection, Morris nails middle aged white dude experience. With Chabon-like style, he narrates a compelling tale of loss, of friendship, of money, of ennui, of Philadelphia, and of high school basketball.

Good story, well developed characters

This man can write. Good story, well developed characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am not a very good reader when it comes to analyzing, so I always make sure to use other resources besides the book itself. This book defiantly provided me a resource to better understand the story. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for some extra help understanding the text.

This is a great outline and overview of Those who leave and those who stay. If you want the main points and don't want to read the entire book, or just want a companion to the original, this book is great. I really enjoy the quotes as well.
