My granddaughter (4 years old) and I love the Zelda and Ivy series
My granddaughter (4 years old) and I love the Zelda and Ivy series. These books are full of humour and fun. They always are enriching in the vocabulary, topics and opportunities to discuss what is right and wrong.
Perfect for sisters
We pre-ordered this book because we love Zelda & Ivy! Anyone who ever had a sister, or who knows sisters, will recognize the big sister/little sister dynamics at work in these charming stories. Zelda and Ivy have their disagreements, but their loving natures win the day without ever seeming cloying or artificial. My girls love all the Zelda and Ivy books. I hope this author writes many more--we will keep buying them!
Zelda and Ivy
I am a first grade teacher and I love the Zelda and Ivy books. These stories are fun and age appropriate.
Needs adult guidance
We bought this book second hand, it's our only one from the series. At first we had little understanding for Zelda's behavior. Now we moved to a new home and my son is "the boy next door". He is getting bullied by our neighbors' son. Now he wants to read this book constantly because he recognizes himself and knows the sadness of exclusion and humiliation. We discuss Zelda's mean treatment of her neighbor and her little sister, and we essentially use her as a bad example. Unfortunately the story itself does not contain any hints as to how to handle such a bully of a child as Zelda.
