    excellent ...
one of my children asked me about it, so I had to get another copy for my Grandchildren, as it meant a lot to us all. Very much talent with Bobby McFerrin's vocal gymnastics accompanying Jack Nicholson's reading of the classic story we all know. ;-)
Great Story - AWFUL book craftsmanship
This is a wonderful story! However, the book itself is extremely poorly made. The pages fall right out, there is no binding what-so-ever. Am terribly disappointed because my two-year old son LOVES this story. :(

The "book" is a flimsy paperback, and the illustrations are minimal, but it's impossible to ruin this great story. The good old hardcovers seem to be out of print. To the pc reviewers who are bothered by the spanking: Oh for goodness sakes!
    Best children's book
I have loved this story all my life!

    Great books for reading
My son owns all the books from Lilian Hoban especially Arthur collection. She is truly a wonderful writer. Books are morally based and teaches kids not to behave as bad as Arthur does. Arthur is a tempermental monkey and eventually learns from his mistakes. Very easy to read books and makes kids pay attention to the stories. They are that interesting.
    Great.
This is a very cute book. My daughter enjoys reading it. It arrived very quickly and was in very good shape for a used book. I've purchased several used books from Amazon. All have been in very good shape.
    Arthur's Prize Readers
Arthur can read and his sister,Violet, can't-or so Arthur says.
Arthur loves to read his Super Chimp Comic books and violet tries to read them too. One day as Arthur was reading his comic books he found the word "Prize". Arthur read: "Dinner for two with King kong if you sail the most comic books!" Later on in the story Violet picked one of Arthur's comic books up out of the mudd. She looked down at the word "Prize" and read: "Dinner fo two and a free picture of King Kong if you sale the most comic books!"
At the end Violet went home so she could win her first grade reading contest! Those who have read the most books get's free ice-cream sodas for two! When Violet won she let Arthur be the second person to share her prize with!
    A great Arthur Book!
I loved this book because I like the idea that Arthur is trying to win a contest and his sisters trying to win a reading prize. I don't think she would learn those long words that fast. A 5 star book.

    Arthur's Pen Pal
I am a pen pal for a young reader. She selected this book. For her age, it enables me to ask thought provoking questions to make her think about the meaning behind the actions.

Funny Moments While Learning a Lesson
This is a cute story with Arthur learning a lesson that boys aren't really all that different than girls. At the start of the story his little sister, Violet, is annoying him by asking too many questions. He is trying to write a letter to his penpal, Sandy, but keeps getting sidetracked. Frustrated, he tells Sandy that he is lucky to have an older brother.
But all is not as it first seems when Sandy responds to his letter. And, in the meantime, Violet shows Arthur that she is very good at activities that he finds hard to do. Funny at moments, the pictures that follow the story are very expressive.
You can't help but root for little Violet. She means well and admires her brother Arthur. The same feelings he has towards her by the end of the story.
Longer than some 'I Can Read' books, it is 64 pages and may take a young child a while to finish. Ages seven and up for the adventurous reader. 4*/5 for the humor and realistic family moments.
    Arthur's Pen Pal is Sandy

Do you want to know why people are not good at the things that you are good at? Then you should read Arthur's Pen Pal by Lillian Hoban. It is terrific for you to read.
First, it is a fun book. Arthur and his sister had a contest. Arthur is good at Indian wrestling and he writes a letter to his pen pal. His sister is good at skip roping. Who will win? You have to read the book and see.
Second, the characters in the book taught a lesson and it is a terrific book. I like it when one character is good at one thing but the other one is good at another thing. The baby sitter comes home and talks to the kids.
Teachers and Parents, I recommend reading this book to 2nd and 1st graders. The kids will like it. It is a good book for kids so they can learn how to read.
    Arthur's Pen Pal
This book is about a pen pal. Arthur thinks that his pen pal is a boy but it is a girl for real. I liked this book because it had really good pictures. I didn't like this book because it was too hard to read. I think kids should read this book.

    Colorful and imaginative!
This is a short and sweet book about Dynomike and how he is having a bad day, right from the time he wakes up. The good news is that it doesnât have to stay that way. Even though he has had a few accidents, a nice person he encounters teaches him how he can imagine a place, known as his âmagical place,â where only happy thoughts prevail and everything is optimistic. This book not only teaches about positive thinking, but it is also full of rhyming words, so itâs fun to read. Besides that, it can help you teach your kids about their imagination. The illustrations are really what make the book though, since they are so vivid. Dynomike goes all the way to outer space and more, so thereâs plenty for your child to see when you read this one with them. It should fill your story time with lots of laughs and smiles.
    Great Concept and Execution
Mindfulness is not taught enough, so I adore this concept. The book itself is also simply fun, with bright illustrations and easy-to-follow concepts. I love the way emphasis on the way that how we think can change so much â and there arenât many childrenâs books that managed to teach it as easily and enjoyably as Dynomike does. Plus, there are cool illustrations and the main character works perfectly.
    Great Concept â Positive Thinking
    Great Concept â Positive Thinking
A colorful illustrated, well-written book for children ages 6-8 years âold. Dynomike was feeling stressed he bumped his head getting out of bed. He was having a bad start to the day â a bad morning. Help is on the way Chubbs the bus driver shares with Dynomike a technique to help relieve stress by going to a âMagical Spaceâ thinking fun and positive thoughts.
This is a wonderful story on a topic we may not talk about enough concerning children and the challenges they have that created stressful emotions. But positive feeling and thinks help greatly.
    Just Ok
It could be more entertaining, but Iâm sure kids will enjoy it, and it does put a smile on your face.
