Where does Sky: Child, Interrupted rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

This is an excellent book. It is a true story but it reads more like fiction. The story is well written. Because it depicts real life, it is complex and multifaceted.

What other book might you compare Sky: Child, Interrupted to and why?

It reminds me of the Netflix documentary, "The Making of a Murderer." The show depicts how the police prosecuted a man for a crime he did not commit. He served 18 years in jail before being exonerated through DNA testing. This book is similar in that it documents the lengths to which DHS will go to keep children in their system and increase their power. It details the abuses and incompetence that pervade this institution. It is an important book for anyone interested in perserving Parental Rights.

Which character as performed by Michael Kazalski was your favorite?

Michael Kazalski gave a great performance of all of the real life characters. He did a great job and made them come alive.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, this is a heart breaking story. It is darkly comic in its treatment of the cruel and senseless actions of the DHS. It is very moving.

This is an excellent book that uncovers the corruption of the DHS and the legal system in general. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Good book

I enjoyed this story. It was well told. It's sad to know people really go through these kind of things. I hate so badly that some children are taken from their homes without good reason and some remain in the homes that they should be taken from. I am just glad I've never been mixed up in anything like that.

A truly incredible story

It is hard to believe that these 'babies' survived at all. What incredible determination and tenacity their mothers displayed in the face of all the horrors they witnessed. A story that has been brilliantly written and truly brings the personalities of the characters alive.

Well written, with all the horrors they went through

With all that is written it makes me wonder how could someone treat another person in the way these people were yet alone a nation. It was a miracle how these woman hid their pregnancy from so called German doctors let alone give birth to their off springs. It was great how the babies born in the camp met up after the war and they have kept in touch ever since. I thought when I first started reading the writing of different survivors they all would be pretty much the same thing, but I was wrong. Each persons story tells a different tail of what went on and each persons builds up the whole story of what happened under the control of the Nazi's.

History we must never forget!!

An unbelievable account of true bravery and stamina! Just so frightening how normal lives can be turned into hell in a matter of days. How wonderful it is to know that out of all the pain and sorrow they endured they managed to tricked the Nazis and kept their pregnancies and babies secret to the end. Many thousands didn't manage this which makes these three woman's journeys so remarkable and although a very hard and tearful 'read' the ending brings a warm smile in acknowledgement to the survival of the children who have been able to continue their family line due to their courageous mother's.

A heartbreaking account told beautifully

I will ever forget listening to this.

Lots of little tiny stories

Would you listen to Pulling Down the Barn again? Why?

Most likely won't listen to it again. It was ok, and the details were good, it was just sometimes there was too many tiny details that it was easy to get sidetracked from what was going on with the people.

No i havn't

Which scene was your favorite?

I found the whole party line for the phones pretty cool. My mom had that all while growing up and my grandma still had times where neighbors calls could be heard when she picked up the phone in the mid to later 80s.

I also liked the part where the one brother was hurt by the other brother, yelling to the parents that the one brother had been killed/was dead, and then all the kids getting in trouble even though only the 2 boys did the actions.... so typical for a lot of parents even today.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, it was good to listen to a few stories and come back later and listen to a few more.
