Claire is convinced creepy Magnus isn't human... but is he a vampire or something else entirely? Claire's hunt for answers leads her to solving another mystery that's long been puzzling her: why do vampires live so far out in a sunny desert when they're sensitive to sunlight? The answer has nothing to do with sunlight, but with water - and an ancient enemy who has finally found a way to invade the vampires' landlocked community.

Vampires aren't the top predator on earth. There's something worse that preys on them... something much worse. Which means if Claire, and Morganville, want to live, they will have to fight on to the last breathe...

Again another great book by Rachel Caine

The fantastic four, Claire, Shane, Michael and Eve. I love the way that the characters have grown throughout the series. In Last breath the vampires of Morganville are now the prey and Claire is out to find the culprit. This is an excellent book which in true Caine fashion is difficult to put down. I love this series!!!

A Real Surprise

I bought this short story because I like to find stories and books I can recommend to both the avid readers and the reluctant young readers I know. I thought a story about a pirate would be entertaining. I was wrong, though. One cannot call "Pirate" entertaining. It is too deep for that. It is wonderfully written, but it will also challenge the beliefs of most people (regardless of age) who read it. I heartily recommend it to everyone.

Great story.

loved the book and great reading would recommend

love the book a great read and would recommend to anyone and the site great

Gripping, Exciting

I loved the whole storyline, I was gripped from the go, I really enjoyed reading these 2 books and hope that a 3rd will be released. It is exciting and gripping, the story always gets your full attention. My best bits are when you get to know all the different sayings and what equipment is and what it's used for.

decent read

decent book worth a read give it a try and see what you think ok

Disappointing

Would you consider the audio edition of DropZone: Terminal Velocity to be better than the print version?

The only benefit of the audio version over the written, is the personality given by the narrator Nigel Pilkington.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I almost flat-lined... out of boredom.

Have you listened to any of Nigel Pilkingtons other performances? How does this one compare?

I have listened to a couple of narrations by Nigel Pilkington and this is on par with them.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I have listened several times, each time, trying to glean interest from the plot... both in parts and in full... the performance of the narrator was fine... the storey felt mass produced, rushed and so far from McNab's normal flair, I begrudge the price of the credit that paid for it.

Not up there with McNabs best

Would you try another book written by Andy McNab or narrated by Nigel Pilkington?

I quite enjoy Mc Nabs' books but this narrator is HIGHLY annoying, I have gotten used to Paul Thornley and others who are just more natural than Pilkington. The story is thin and predictable, I found 'Silencer' a whole lot better and more gripping.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Different narrator would have been a good start.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Nigel Pilkington?

Paul Thornley.
