#42 - The purpose of my brand, HOW TO LIFE,  is to help take the fear out of adulting, and for many, one of the bigger ones is What Am I Going To Do With My Life?

That’s ok. It was a fear for me too when I was younger. I really didn’t know and graduation was looming!

But it was a chance suggestion that got me pointed in a direction toward what would be my career.

So I have decided that I will make a series of What Can I Do With My Life podcasts that offer some suggestions as well as information on how to look into it further.

#41 - The last episode answered the question What the Heck is a 401K.

In case you missed it, it is an account you can set up through your employer where you can save a little money that will be invested in the stock market and managed for you. It is a great, no-brainer, easy way for you to save for your future.

We are going to continue with that same theme right now. My guest is Eva Agi, an Investment Advisor Representative with Gerber Kawasaki Wealth & Investment Management. 

Translation: she is qualified to help you invest your money and make it grow so you can relax a bit when you are older.

And guess what? You don’t need to have a ton of money to start. It’s true!!!

There is no need to be intimidated by this topic. Eva does a great job of taking the fear out of the concept of investing and making it so easy to understand that you will start thinking that it isn’t so scary after all and you can do it too.

#40 - Have you heard the phrase START PLANNING FOR YOUR FUTURE? Do you have any idea what that means or how to go about doing that?

Starting out in life is often overwhelming enough without having to think about that. 

It seems so far away. Why worry about it?

The good news is that I don’t want you to worry about it. I don’t want you to be stressed in the NOW worrying about the future.

So I want to tell you about an easy way to save money for your future or if you don’t like that word, just have a little savings, that can be set up automatically, very often through your employer. 

Many, many companies offer what is called a 401K which is an account that you can open up through your job and put a little money away each pay period or whenever you want. It will get invested for you and over time it will grow. 

My guest today is Melissa Neacato a financial coach and she runs her blog called the Travelling Wallet which is all about FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE AND RETIRING EARLY.

She has great information to share about the ease and benefits of a 401K account.

Don’t worry, this is a very easy-to-follow conversation that will for sure help clear up some of the mystery about this term 401 K and growing your money through investing. 

Saving money through a 401K  is so easy that you won’t even feel it! But you will be setting yourself up for financial comfort in the future.

 #39 - The title of this episode is Age Is Just a Number. 

And if you read just that and stopped there you may have thought the topic would be about how even if you are older you can still do things that a younger person can do, right? That phrase is usually used in that context.

But, actually, my guest today is quite young and is doing things that usually older people do or attempt. 

He has created a couple of businesses. He is not afraid to pursue what interests him. He learns as he goes, and he is confident and assertive. The fact that he is 16 does not make him doubt himself at all. 

I met Noah when he joined an entrepreneurial group that I am in. He is very active in this group. He is not afraid to ask for help or guidance and he is very generous in sharing what he knows with anyone who needs help in his area of expertise which is Anything Cameras. 

There are 500 of us in this group and he is by far the youngest member. And no one considers him a kid. We all respect him as a peer and a valuable member of our community.

I wanted to do this interview because I would like to help this age group know their power. I want you to hear from someone your own age who proves that age is just a number. There is no need to feel insecure or think that you can’t do something because you are only in high school.

If you have a teenager or if you are a teenager who would like some inspiration on how to trust yourself and believe in yourself, Noah is sure to encourage you!

#38 - As you all know, we don’t always get our way. Sometimes, things just do not turn out as we planned and that can be very frustrating and disappointing. 

With that said, I don’t want you to think that you can’t have what you want. You can. You may need to tweek it a bit, revamp it, or keep at it until you get there.

Or you can let go, be still, and just BE for a little bit and see what shows up for you.

#36 - Happy New Year and Welcome to 2021.

I decided to start the year off by doing a solo show today. I want to sort of ease into the new year by talking about resetting.

Resetting in the sense of starting over. Pushing the reset button. It is a term that means when things are spinning out of control, or you need a break, or you just want to stop and move in a different direction, you take deliberate action to stop what you don’t like or stop the way it had been going, and pivot into a new direction. 

It is like stepping on the breaks to avoid hitting something. You do it in sports all the time. You slow it down to change the pace or break the rhythm of your opponent. You change the game plan if it is not going well. 

You can, of course, do this at any time, but the new year always seems like a good time to begin again, make that resolution, buy a gym membership, write out your goals list.

Hit that RESET button!

2020 is over. Yeah, It felt like a downward spiral for a while but now it's time to pull up and level out.

So How do you Reset? Well, first you have to realize and intend to reset.
