Great read

Dull and predictable,

I enjoyed the first two characters. The next 2 were carbon copy with minor details. Lauren, the last is the best antidote for insomnia I have had in a long timeâ..dull, dull, and duller. I normally enjoy Sherrly Woods' books, and I think she has a stable of ghost writers. The ones that wrote these should have stayed ghosts!

A BREATHTAKING JOURNEY OF TRUST, BETRAYAL & LOVE

This listen pulls at your heart strings, not because of the tender, sweet love story that developed between the beautiful sweet natured Savannah and the scarred hermit Asher, no.... it was the bitter betrayal. You know it's coming but nothing prepares you for the extent of pain that the heartbreaking shocking revelation will cause both Savannah and Asher.

Great addictive bitter-sweet love story as Asher tells of the tragic IED incident that changed his life (which is unfortunately all too real today) and there's a lovely paced yet quick to develop romance because the attraction and chemistry was there from the start as Savannah could look beyond his scars and found the mentally wounded man underneath. Beautiful words and romantic scenes make you feel the love between these two characters. With Savannah's love and support Asher slowly begins to rejoin the living once more but the price he would pay for his misguided trust in her nearly broke him and caused a deeper pain than the IED.

Worth a credit? Dual POV's, supportive secondary characters, sex, all American Hero, a naive Heroine and a good narrator made this a very enjoyable creditworthy listen.

Im kicking myself for not having read it sooner! Ive LOVED all of Katys books that Ive had the privilege of reading, so I knew Id love this one. While Bethany read an e-copy, I listened to the audio version, which is what I recommend you all do.

If you love angst...look no further!

What did you love best about Arsen?

How unique it is - it's not your typical happy fluffy love story - there is very little actual happiness, it squeezes your heart to the point of pain.

What other book might you compare Arsen to and why?

I hate comparing books and in this case, I don't think it's possible. Arsen is just in it's own category.

What about Mackenzie Cartwright and Roger Wayne s performance did you like?

They did a pretty good job of bringing the character's to life and I liked that Roger varied his voice enough for Ben and Arsen.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Love has consequences.

This book is not for everyone and it does deal with cheating, so if that's not something you're okay with, I would steer clear. If you like pushing your boundaries and stepping outside the norm, then I would definitely recommend it.

Wow....this was a truly emotional rollercoaster.

Definitely worth every second of listening to this audiobook.

It made me feel so many different things, there was anger, disappointment, sadness, happiness.

This book can really make you think twice and again before making a choice that will turn your life upside down before you even realize it.

Choices that are our mistakes but we are too blind in that moment to see them as such.

Choices that will not improve our lives as we might think and hope for but ruin them instead.

Destroy relationships that took years to build, shatter all trust and dreams.

I really really loved this book and its message.

I was also very pleased with the effort and work that narrators put into this book.

Without their emotions and interpretations it might not have been as good.

I have read this book now for the fourth time and decided to listen to it on audio. Loved it wven more. the book finds its way into my soul and I cry, laugh, get mad and sad, and feel so many emotions. I love Mia Asher, I wish she would come out with another book soon!!!

My Kind of Hero

Be careful with this book. You may find yourself longing for a pet, if you don't already have one, after reading this story.

Marina Adair wove a story steeped in small town closeness, a longing to be intricately connected to that town and a love strong enough to break through the insecurities of two people running from their past.

I appreciate Ms. Adair's ability to write a story with many levels. There was a great deal more going on than a sweet love story between two multi-dimensional characters who fought their feelings for each other from the beginning. The personality of the town and two and four-legged secondary characters were funny, intriguing and real.

I loved Shay's headstrong and quirky nature. It was the perfect antithesis to Jonah's straightforward and structured nature. Shay's elderly friends were a hoot. I found myself smiling widely and laughing out loud at the women's antics, but by the end of the book my smile was due to the warm feelings of satisfaction.

Renee Raudman did a great job with all the different character voices. Her performance was stellar and added to the enjoyment of this book.

Just okay

I love this series, but this story was just--ok. It didn't grab me or hold my attention like some of the others. As for the narration, it's really off-putting to have the characters in every story sound exactly the same. Each heroine has the same voice, as do the heroes of the stories. Also, none of the African American heroines appear to be voiced by African American women. That's particularly annoying. Without the verbal reminders, I forget they are supposed to be African American.

Another WONDERFUL BWWM love story that had me cheering. I am proud of this writer. She keeps humor, drama & love in balance if EVERY STORY. KUDOS NANA MALONE!

Good plot, unique characters, but too much sex

I read this book because the premise seemed interesting and original. I wanted to see how the author would handle the reality TV dating show setting. There were flashes of true creativity and some original language, but it quickly became apparent these were but side dishes to the main attraction: the multiple, painfully detailed graphic sex scenes. That being said the sex scenes were good and, for the most part, believable. Just too many and too frequent.

I enjoyed the characters being both likeable and realistic. I don't like women 'needing' a man, but also enjoy a self aware couple who act like normal human beings would - so the author did brilliantly there. The characters were very well developed and the story wasn't dictated by a bunch of ideas, but instead, seems to flow like real life events do.

WHOA, WHAT, MMM DELISH, GULP, NO NO NO & WOW

I have a love/hate relationship with Trilogies..... especially the really exciting and well-written ones like this, because they make me so frustrated at the cliffhanger endings that I find myself wishing my life away until the next book is released when I can finally put all the puzzle pieces together. But arghh and sadly the next one doesn't come out til May!!

Anyhooo, this is book 2 in Sierra Kincade's fantastic and thrilling Body Work Trilogy where Alec and Anna are still battling everything to stay together but tensions are high, people aren't who you think they are and Alec, being the only witness left that can take down his Boss, has had to go into protective custody which leaves Anna feeling very alone and vulnerable. Suspense, shocks, who to trust?, twists, hot sex, high passions, soul-soul chemistry, danger, intrigue, murder attempts, interesting secondary characters and a beautiful, sad and doomed love affair. Anna has held on, clung to hope, waited three months for Alec to come out of prison, now it's 10 weeks while he's under wraps (even if he does find touching ways to be near her). But the danger she's putting everyone else in that she loves by being associated with Alec might just be the final straw.

Told from Anna's POV, the narrator was great and could do a sexy drool-worthy Hero's voice with no problems as well as all the other characters and a full range of emotions with ease.

Worth a credit? This was just as captivating, just as intense and just as packed full of intrigue as The Masseuse was and, as I've said, I can't wait to finally hear how these two lovers can possibly get their much deserved HEA ending but I'm ever hopeful. Very creditworthy and I'm off now to count the days!!

Middle of series -- not a stand alone

While the story is compelling, I was a bit frustrated at times because I didn't remember important details from the previous book that would have helped explain people's behavior. Not only must the first book be read first, but this second one should be read immediately thereafter.

Loving this series!

I must admit I was skeptical that after book one the author would be able to pull off another book with this story. It felt like the story was over.

Horrible, really bad, narration!!! Argh!

I'm 1/2 way thru what is a great storyline...but I honestly don't know if I can finish it because the narration is so bad! Who really talks like that - she chews the words! For a lack of a better description. It is extremely distracting - it constantly pulls me out of the story. Before you buy this book - be sure to listen to the sample listen.

Mixed reaction

The story of hunting the terrorists was exciting and well done. The h's angst over the relationship with the H was over done. It was understandable and realistic but it stalled the story to have it hashed over so much. The narration was very inconsistent. Her voice for Derek was terrific but the general narration was very strained, over enunciated and she tripped over words.

I have read or listened to every book by Laura Griffin and she will continue to be an automatic buy despite the hiccups in this book.

Pros:

Liked the hero, exciting fight at the climax of the story between the hero and his opponent who was a very bad guy, good HEA and ending

Cons:

Heroine has a real chip on her shoulders throughout most of the story. The fat comments by adults were juvenile at best and offensive at worst. The heroine has lost 80 pounds, works out every day and is in fantastic shape, so because she is size 12, she is considered a pity date by one and a piggy by others? Give me a break. Really? Is this the world we live in today? Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Healthy is beautiful. Also, the bad guy kidnaps the heroine not once, but twice, and no one ever presses charges against him? Maybe the author should consider writing fantasy where the reality check can be left at the door. Narrator was only OK, not able to differentiate between characters much. Except the bad guy, he spoke with a southern accent. Finally, the story was done before. The opponent uses the heros girlfriend against him in an effort to win the upcoming fight. Nothing new here, but it makes the meat of the story more important which fell short for me.

In spite of all my cons, the author knows how to use a pen. Will I continue with this series? Not sure, but I will not be opposed to trying this author in the future if the story description captures my attention.

An entertaining MMA love story which has Dante, a drool-worthy sexy tattooed fighter, training to take on the fight that could make his career and a heroine that distracts and frustrates him so much that she could end up breaking his career. Because, unlike all the other groupies and easy lays that surround him, Dante finds that he actually has to chase Caitlan which first peaks his interest but it's her personality, looks and their obvious chemistry that keeps him hot on her trail.
