When pirates hijack a container ship off the coast of Somalia, a sinister plan to cripple the US presence in the Persian Gulf and precipitate a war is unleashed. Two North Korean nuclear warheads being smuggled to Iran are the centerpiece of an ISIS plot to distract the world's attention. If they succeed, thousands of people will die in nuclear fire and the world will be at war.
Enter OUTCAST (Operational Undertaking To Counteract Active Stateside Threats) - six ex-operatives from six of America's most powerful organizations. Each has been unceremoniously released by their respective former employer for alleged misdoings that leave their pride wounded but their essential skillsets untouched. After uniting over their shared bond of dismissal from the nation's most elite outfits, the disgruntled spooks realize that they can work together like never before to take down threats to their beloved country, a country that branded them as outcasts but needs them now more than ever.
As a quiet investigation in South Africa suddenly goes hot, leading to a Somalian pirate base and a night-time assault on the high seas, OUTCAST is hell-bent on showing America that their way isn't the best way - it's the only way.

Outcast OPS bring home a winner
This is such an exciting book our heroes face ruthless terrorists who have control of 2 nuclear weapons and time is running out.Nonstop action makes this a great summer read!
    Outcast Ops book 3
Loved the series. Couldn't put the bok down.
The team was very interesting each and every one of them.
I hope there are more coming.
    Black ops. Thriller
Another great read by the OUTCAST team. A combination of Somali and Arab terrorists have captured a couple of Nuclear war heads and plan to fire them up from the deck of the container ship. The good guys win out in the end but not before an almighty battle on the ship with the launch aborted at the last minute. Off to buy the next in the series.
    Fun read
A fun easy beach read need to be more careful about misspellings, bad grammar. And duplicated words in same sentence. Tighter editing.
    Outcast Ops On Fire
The plot is "torn from the headlines" and the action is non-stop in the finest tradition of "Mission: Impossible" -- where over-the-top is just right!

Title: The Show Must Go On
    Subtitle: Cirque Macabre, Book 1
    Author: CS Patra
    Narrator: Zachary Liebenstein
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 8 hrs and 5 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 05-03-16
    Publisher: CS Patra
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 9 votes
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
Dante Gallati was a man who ran his circus with an iron-fist and showed a soft side to a select few. He had his secrets that no one knew about and he could change his mind in a matter of seconds.
One night, he changed the theme of his circus right in the middle of a tour. He promised that it would be the show that everyone would remember. After that, he told them good night and said that he would talk more about Cirque Macabre.
That was the last time anyone saw him alive.
It isn't long before pieces of Dante Gallati are found and the circus performers realize a killer is walking among them. Cryptic notes with Shakespeare's quotes are sent to them and the circus starts to go into a panic. In the middle of it all are the nine people Dante trusted the most: trapeze artists Spencer and Rosalie, acrobats Lisa and Nick, tightrope walker Tracey, bareback rider Alana, Jonny the world's most cynical clown, Harry the lion tamer, and daredevil Andrew.
Dante saved them once upon a time and they swear to keep his legacy alive. But as they keep digging deeper into the murder mystery, they soon realize that Dante wasn't as honest as he appeared to be. He had many secrets and he surrounded himself with lies. He made plenty of people angry and one in particular was angry enough to kill.
Now it's up to Dante's trusted nine to find that killer before one of them ends up as the next victim.

    The Show Went On...
...and on. This seemed like a much longer book than it was. And I listened to it on 1.5 speed! For me, it was the narration that made it difficult to listen to. Zachary Liebenstein's female voices were wanting, his male voices were OK, and his narration style left much to desire. He was definitely 'reading' the material rather than telling the story. He also called Henry the Fifth Henry V (as in the letter) or Henry Five throughout the book (and it was used a lot) and mispronounced words throughout which was very distracting. At one point, he leaned away from the microphone while recording and coughed.
It seemed like a great premise for a book. A single-minded, strong-willed circus owner announces the transformation of the show to his 'favorite' performers just before disappearing. Soon after, bits of him begin to be found and seeming to point the finger at different performers. I just didn't love how the story unfolded. Too much was kept back for too long and it took too long for discoveries to be made and secrets to be revealed. I usually like longer books over shorter ones but this book could have done with some editing and the ending definitely could have given more details heading into the second installment in the series. Would I listen to the second book? Yes, to see if Patra develops the story more fully and matures as a writer. I usually enjoy the author's work and would give this another shot.
I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom! in exchange for an honest review.
    Middle of the road
Would you try another book from CS Patra and/or Zachary Liebenstein?
    Yes
    Any additional comments?
Not bad. Middle of the road mystery. Narration was average.

A&A's third audio outing is nunja fightin' fun!
Part three kicks the adventure into overdrive by pitting multiple characters against each other and throwing more challenges in Archer & Armstrong's way. The bond between Armstrong and Sister Tommy is a strong one, and I especially enjoyed hearing actors Barbra Dillon and Pete Milan play off each other. Melissa Autumn Hearne really sold Mary-Maria's conflicted relationship with Archer, and Paul Brueggemann once again nailed Archer's internal conflict.
The religious elements of this episode were handled extremely well by writer Fred Van Lente. More than any episode thus far, Episode #3 really delves into what faith and religion means to these characters. Sister Tommy's Christianity bounces off of Armstrong's Atheism in a way that I wish the story had a lot more time to develop. It's a complete story in and of itself, and that relationship between them is partly why Sister Tommy made such an impact on me in her short run. Mary-Maria also has a moment of conflicted faith in this episode that plants the seeds for things down the line. And as events unfolded, it was great to see how much Archer has grown as a character in just three episodes.
Also of note is how downright hilarious this installment is. When Mary-Maria and Armstrong meet, I thought I was going to loose it laughing. Their entire scene together is, in a word, AMAZING.
Stepping in for Anna Rodriguez, Director Dave Morgan does a great job honoring the sound design of the previous episodes in a way that sounds like it's cut from the same cloth.
All in all, Episode #3 of Archer & Armstrong is tons of fun from beginning to end. I couldn't be more excited for the grand finale in Episode #4.
    5 out of 5 stars.

    Members Reviews:
    Awesome book
Okay, I was pretty sure the guy didnât kill anyone but I have to say the author kept me going. When we reached the expose I was suddenly not so certain. The point of the book is that anyone is capable of anything given circumstances. Iâd previously read the authorâs book about the holocaust, Cimmerian, and see now that may be a recurring theme in his work. This is a good book and I really recommend it.
    Mixed feelings
This story is worth five stars, but, way to much explicit sexual content and vulgar language plus needs a lot of editing.
    Okay book
I would have given it four stars if it had been edited better. So many mistakes that spell check cannot catch because they're not misspelled words but words used incorrectly.
    Loved it!
I just love books about moral ambiguity. This is a clever story with lots of interesting twists and turns. I liked the hero but I really couldnât decide if he was a good guy or not. The book really recreates Phoenix, Arizona in the 1980âs. Very interesting and different.
    Great Read
This book reminded me of Presumed Innocent in that we really donât know if the narrator is a killer or not. Heâs certainly made a lot of bad, personal decisions. I found this to be a fascinating take on the traditional murder mystery and highly recommend it.

    Publisher's Summary:
The first volume in an epic tale of heroes, villains, murder, and madness. Follow the birth and growth of one of the strangest characters in new pulp fiction to date, The Black Centipede, as created by Chuck Miller!
    Members Reviews:
New pulp story filled with action
New pulp story filled with action. We witness how the Black Centipede was born, and the dark story surrounding Lizzie Borden and a supernatural being, Mary Jane Gallows. I found clever the way Chuck Miller mixed fantasy and reality in this tale and the supposed theory about Lizzie Borden's crimes. Mary Jane will become the Black Centipede's nemesis throughout the book and she is the one that will trigger the change in William to become a hero. An echo of the classic masked heroes, the Black Centipede is much more than that. He protects the citizens of Zenith, but in fact, he enjoys fighting and hurting, and one of his main goals is giving chase to a new villain, Dr. Almanac, and see who is behind him.
I especially enjoyed William's youth, in which he mentions being a friend of H.P. Lovecraft, and even helping him naming his monsters. The beginning of the novel is dark, not only because of his friendship with Lovecraft but also by how young William is uncannily attracted to a murderess. This will be crucial for his personality development.
There is a clear human component to the Black Centipede, but there is also something else, ambiguously described in the book. This aura of mystery will make the character of the Black Centipede even more interesting.
Several dialogs and scenes made me laugh a lot, by how extravagant they were, but I have to say that the whole book is quite weird but in a good way. This book is written as the memoirs of the Black Centipede. It is written in first person and it uses a rich language and humorous figures. It is a pleasure to the ear.
I really enjoyed Chris Grall's narration. His tone is direct and compelling, and his voice makes the listener focus on the tale Chuck wove. I think he was the perfect narrator for this story. Checking Audible, I only see two books narrated by Grall, but I am sure we will listen to more books narrated by him. There were no issues with the audio production.
This may not be a book for everyone, but if you are into classic or new pulp, or want just to enjoy a different book, I strongly recommend it.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. Honestly, I'm not a fan of this particular genre. I tried, but I just could not get into this book. That's not to say it was bad or good, just that I didn't particularly care for it. I know this is a very unhelpful review, but there it is.
